School district removes doors from bathroom stalls, girls allegedly forced to bring blankets from home for privacy

One school in Illinois has shocked students, and parents alike, after they made the decision to remove the doors from bathroom stalls after a student allegedly wrote a note in the bathroom threatening a school shooting.


After the initial shock of discovering their privacy had been taken away from them, some students have been forced to get creative.

I don't think they went far enough. They should remove the bathrooms completely. Prohibit all students from even thinking about going to the bathroom. Having to go to the bathroom could indicate that you are complicit in note-making, or sympathize with note-making, and we just can't be too careful.

Back in my day they did that to cut down on students taking drugs in the bathrooms. Hall monitors would patrol the lavs as well as the halls and report any suspected drug use.
