No, not at all. Adam and Eve sinning are what caused Satan to get a foothold in religion, not God naming Him or telling us about him. We wouldn't know anything if God hadn't told us. I didn't mean for it to sound like I thought you were blaming God for their sin. That's Satan's fault too.

Absolutely. Those societies that committed horrendous atrocities in the name of their "gods" such as the Aztecs, had never read the bible or even heard of Satan as describe by the scriptures. Crimes may be called by another description but they are all because of Satan and demons. God naming in the bible the enemy did not bring him into existence. Ignoring him would not cause him to disappear either.

Today they start them in Satan's name because that's the name they have but there are other names too. And yes their motivation is to commit sin but their motivator is the devil or Satan or whatever other name he has been called throughout history. Lucifer was created/named by God, and was a holy angel that rebelled and became Satan, the adversary, the devil. There was nothing false about the God-given light of Lucifer, and nothing in Strong's Concordance speaks of this light-bearer as being false. Just motivated? You make it sound so innocent. To say something is "only" motivated or "just" motivated by evil, which is what sin is, seems to be an attempt to make it "not so bad". The truth is being motivated by sin is the definition of being motivated by anything or everything that is evil and against God. Now maybe what you are trying to say is that these people who are criminals or who start cults may not think, in their own minds, they are motivated by sin. They may think they are doing good. Doesn't matter if they think they're doing what's right or good, if GOD SAYS it's evil and wrong and "sin" then that's what it is. We CANNOT think something into being right just because we THINK it is. What we think or how we feel does not matter, what God thinks does.
