I may be wrong, but there may be some accusations in which you are convicted of sins you confess.

That could not be further from the truth. Christ forgives infinitely, and blesses us just for confessing, because confession in and of itself is a sign of great humility.

Great, mighty men have confessed to the Lord., including even George Washington. If they can do it, you can do it :)

The original teachers of the Church taught from the languages of the Bible, not a translation. Here is an example of what takes place when a pastor is a full time student of the original languages.

Er - people didn't start teaching from the bible until the Reformation. That is, they said "the bible says this and this, so therefore you should..."

In the early Church people taught the apostolic faith which was later mostly recorded in scripture. People taught what they heard. When someone seemed to be off basis, they would use earlier writing or scripture in order to refute it.

Some things will not be readily understood if you are not familiar with the terms. ASK, and I will do my best to explain what was meant when he said something you do not understand.

Grace and peace...

I am sorry but that is not exegesis. That's is Calvinistic-theology preaching with a scattering of ambiguous scriptural quotes and a few Greek words. If a person is using a Greek word that may have borrowed it from another source, or simply looked up the use of a word in English to figure out what it means in Greek.

The Reformation was a returning to reading from the Scriptures. It did not begin with them.

Besides, you totally messed up what I said. I spoke of teachers. Not the people.

I am a graduate (76) of DTS.

Lindsey was not accepted into the ThM program, he only received a certificate. Swindoll graduated Magna Cum Laude from DTS.

Recommendations are taken into consideration but alone are not THE sole determination.

When I was a student at DTS (72-76) Thieme was telling his students (those he had recommended attend DTS) which profs to study under and which ones to avoid. They kept to themselves.

RBT's early publications are quite good. Later on he became strident and combative. So, IMO, Colonel RBT is a mixed bag, Caveat Emptor.

Indeed.

...and Gene, he graduated Magna Cum Laude.
(Not sure why his little books always had in their blurb, 'Summa...".

He himself mentions this in a 'brainwashing' lecture from the early 60's, in addition to the DTS records and newspaper reports of his graduation.
