Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

I'm sure many here in this forum may know me and hate me. Oh well..that's their problem.

I've been reading many christians and non-christians stuggling with depressions...and many other terrible issues. It's really sad to hear going hard times. Me, myself, had pretty much been looked down by many christians. I heard some going through some B.S. and had attempted to go through suicide.

Look it here. I know my replies might been b.s., but hell, why in the world are people so cold toward others?
Where's god to help these needys? Where's god?

I doubt anyone hates you!

If you ever need somewhere to hang out, come and spend time in CC

As to where's God... He's with us always. But everything is in His timing. We truly just have to trust that He'll use everything we're going through for His wonderful reasons - of which, we can't even fathom.

Look at Job. That dude suffered. But God never left him. He never lost faith in the Lord, and the Lord blessed him *mightily*.

We all struggle very much, because we live in a fallen world, but this world isn't our home

Well, I just want God to help them than myself.
God IS love, and He has reason for everything He does and everything He allows.
We can't see His purposes, so we are not fit to judge or question or doubt God based upon what we dislike down here.

God could be allowing judgment on a person/people for things we don't know,
it could be the result of their own bad choices
it could be the result of SIN -- (God doesn't stop all sin - sin BRINGS suffering in many ways)
it could be the result of them opening doors to Satan's attacks
See Hosea 4:6 & 2 Peter 3:15-16

it could be that God is using that tragedy to CALL THEM TO HIMSELF when they otherwise refuse to seek God (trying to reach them spiritually)
it could just be the natural result of a cursed, sinful world that causes a chain reaction of problems thru their evil.
Scripture tells us that
It could be that God allows the suffering becuz He's going to do a miracle in their life later
It could be that God is allowing them to go thru that suffering so that later, THEY CAN BE A HELP TO OTHERS who are suffering with that problem.
(look at formerly abused women who heal and then go make a foundation to HELP battered women, etc.)

ALOT of possibilities exist - this is why we TRUST that God has a bigger purpose in all He does & allows. God is right here

Lastly, Jesus promised that "in this world you will have tribulation. But be of good cheer, I have overcome the world".
This world is temporary - the next one is eternal, and THAT is the life God is working to get us into - not mere comfort & happiness in a cursed earth that will be judged.

TRUST GOD - that is our response as believers who know Him.

Where's god to help these needys? Where's god?
Let me ask you this question, do YOU think you love people more than God does?
Is your love deeper for them than His?

I'd ask you to search your heart becuz that is essentially what you might actually be feeling. YOU would help them, but God isn't - so WHERE IS HE?

Does God not love all people? He died for every single one of them.

Koban, Think of this life, your life, as a story. God is the author of this story, called our lives. Right now you can only see what is going on in the page that you are on, you can't see to the next page, or 100 pages from now. It can be very easy to complain to God or to think that God is being unfair, when you can't see what is going to happen next. God wrote the book, He already knows what is going to happen, trust that the author of the story knows what is best.

Ok, I'm not sure if I am clear on the exact topic, but if it is why God doesn't help those with depression, and why do Christians look down on them, well--

I have a very long answer, but I have a meeting to go to here at work. I will post it when I get back, because this is a very important issue for me.

hell...i dont' know.
K... well you're making posts about why isn't God isn't DOING something that He SHOULD be doing; it presupposes that YOU WOULD do something if you could and that God should be stopping it or fixing it.

Errgo, you seem to have an underlying view that God must not be Loving or that you are more loving.

This is why we just trust in God becuz He knows what He's doing/allowing and why. and ALL of us have horrible things happen to us at some times in our life. It's part of life and we have a choice to trust God thru those times or raise our fists & attack Him for not doing what we want Him to.

It's a choice to trust or attack/doubt.

He'd also be assuming that Christians 'look down on them'...
they may not actually be looking down on them - but dont know how to help, or what to say, or what to do/not do.
I don't like people lumping ALL Christians together as if they all are guilty of something when they are not.

Well I hope you can change your mind
We are really nice people
Sorry you feel that way.
Please, come back. :sorry:
I know you guys are all great people. And I had posted the whole darn thing. Seriously, I think it was the longest post I have ever typed. It isn't the members here, it is all those who aren't members that are dying to have something to gossip about that lurk here.

I will say this, though. God doesn't abandon those with mental illness. Just because there is not a miracle cure, no instant God-given healing doesn't mean that He has abandoned us. God has given us people with the minds to come up with medicines and therapies to help us. God has given us friends and Church to turn to. He has given us the responsibility to seek what it takes to heal. I have experience with this issue. If anyone wants to know more, they can PM me. But we must take advantage of the things that God gives us. Those are our miracles.

It reminds me of this joke I heard years ago:

A big storm approaches. The weatherman urges everyone to get out of town. The priest says, "I won't worry, God will save me".
The morning of the storm, the police go through the neighborhood with a sound truck telling everyone to evacuate. The priest says "I won't worry, God will save me".
The storm drains back up and there is an inch of water standing in the street. A fire truck comes by to pick up the priest. He tells them "Don't worry, God will save me."
The water rises another foot. A National Guard truck comes by to rescue the priest. He tells them "Don't worry, God will save me."
The water rises some more. The priest is forced up to his roof. A boat comes by to rescue the priest. He tells them "Don't worry, God will save me."
The water rises higher. The priest is forced up to the very top of his roof. A helicopter comes to rescue the priest. He shouts up at them "Don't worry, God will save me."
The water rises above his house, and the priest drowns.
When he gets up to heaven he says to God "I've been your faithful servant ever since I was born! Why didn't you save me?"
God replies "First I sent you a fire truck, then the national guard, then a boat, and then a helicopter. What more do you want from me!!??"

I've changed my mind. All these people I have never seen before in there stirring up trouble. This isn't the place it used to be, and I don't feel comfortable any longer sharing my story.

Sorry.
Now that's the way of the christian.
