I'd apologize except attacking ALL Christians as not dealing with other people's depressions & issues is just a false accusation - one he can't even make since he doesn't know "ALL" Christians to begin with.

I also don't even KNOW anyone in depression personally -- so how can that accusation even fit me. It does not.

Attack of the saints isn't what Christians are about and it's very possible that that's what this thread is actually intended to do rather than actually seek why bad things happen to people.
Both comments are negatives against God and then Believers. The source of it is completely accusatory.

koban, from your pessemism (sp?), it leads me to think that maybe you're depressed and lonely. Maybe you've been hurt or let down by Christians. And maybe you haven't felt God's presence through it. If that be the case, I'm sorry that you feel negitively. I can assure you that God IS with you and that you can't throw ALL Christians (or people for that matter) in the same pot. Maybe you could just give us a chance. I'm praying for you.

absolutely Criada - if we are God's child, then He doesn't leave or forsake us.
He is not a liar - if anyone leaves, it's us leaving God and breaking fellowship. Sin separates us from God, so if we're living in a chronic sin condition, that makes a separation and we stop feeling God working thru us and usually dry up spiritually.
I also believe that we also have an obligation to be obeying His commands to be abiding in Him and in His will.

I know God has a reason for all He does and allows; alot of our trouble is due to what WE do - and other times, God is telling us to seek Him.

Seek first the kingdom of God, and all these other things shall be given you.

I've been reading many christians and non-christians stuggling with depressions...and many other terrible issues. It's really sad to hear going hard times. Me, myself, had pretty much been looked down by many christians. I heard some going through some B.S. and had attempted to go through suicide.

Look it here. I know my replies might been b.s., but hell, why in the world are people so cold toward others?
Where's god to help these needys? Where's god?

Here is what I'm reading in your post:
1) You are angry at Christians for not being better people
2) You are angry at God for not making people feel better when they are hurting
3) You don't understand why God doesn't make us perfect and happy even if we believe in Him

This is just how I'm reading it. Please correct me if I'm wrong in any of these assumptions. I would like to respond, but I feel I first need to make sure I understand what you're saying. Is this what you're feeing? Thanks.

Ok, I am having so much trouble posting today. I'm going to try this again.

I was not referring to any of the regular members here in my earlier post. I was mostly referring to all the new lurkers and posters that I see up in the little box up there so often lately, who are not members, but seem to be very interested in what goes on here.

To Koban4max: I really think you need to get some help. I understand how difficult feeling this way is, and God has given us the means to get help and to help ourselves. You have to accept it.

If anyone feels they would like to know what I had originally posted, (people I trust, of course) feel free to PM me.

A lot of it depends on which thread you go to and what situations you are sharing. There are so many threads/sections to go to. If you are needing help or just compassion - I would go to one of the ministry threads. Or if I feel wounded and vulnerable, I would not want to go to an area that seems to have more conflict than most areas...and it doesn't take much to see if there is too much conflict in an area for the mood/ability you have at the time. I have been grieving the loss of my stepson. Most of the time I'm in the Blessing Exchange area and the ministry area for grief. On good days when my dander gets up, I go to the political or debate areas. I also check out threads in this area when I'm doing ok and just want to be social. I guess I'm just saying to meet your needs wisely....and pray, pray, pray! May God Bless you brother!

Thank you for clarifying that sister, I'd of felt so bad if you thought I was doing something to harm. I never mean to.

I've seen exactly what you have - people love drama - just look at how popular reality shows are. They eat this up & probly some of them run back to their buddies & have fun gossipping and mocking us.
Eh, whatever... everybody struggles & suffers & goes thru troubles, we all have our days and times - they will have theirs too.

We should rename this section

koban4max, the answers aren't easy. Depression and despair are some of the consquences of sin entering the world. Many people, including Christians, suffer the same as nonbelievers. I know that I've struggled with depression all my life.

One of the worst effects of depression is that it causes one to feel completely separated from God. Let me assure you that He is there, and He loves you very much. Even though it is very hard to find your way through the haze of depression to God, rest-assured that He does want what's best for you.

People are often cold and unkind to one another because they are sinners. That includes Christians, too. Even though we are forgiven, we screw up. Thankfully, God is always there to help pick us up when we fall.

Do you have anything specific that is bothering you? We would be happy to help you find your way.

You MIGHT want to read my very first post to his OP where I KINDLY shared information as to why things do happen.
Also in another thread on OUR part in relation to God - our duty if we consider ourselves saved.

& PS: I may know more about depression and oppression than you may ever know, having gone thru both very severely.
