  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I had a dream that my sister died and there was actually two headstones. One was where she collapsed and died and the other was a much, much bigger one where she was buried. It was a huge ornate stone. I was kneeling before it and crying like a baby.
for part of the dream it was my sister and part of it was my daughter who is 16. They are both well and have no health problems

Father, I pray for simms. Praying protection for his sister and that he would understand his dream. I pray, in Jesus name!

I think the dream is symbolic.

It seems to me you have a close relationship with both your sister & your daughter & the relationship with your daughter is sibliling-like or friend-like in some ways.

As a father who has released a daughter to a marriage partner & another to come, I know this releasing process is very painful. I think it's the hardest part of being a parent. That little child who called us sweetly daddy & who used to play with dolls is now perhaps putting on makeup at times. And 16 is an age where a child is developing their independence (perhaps like the collapsing part of the dream). If she recently turned 16 or has she recently got a boyfriend, or hasn't wanted you around in some context, I imagine you would be feeling it more. When marriage occurs, it's like full closure (burial).

Whilst there may be aspects of your relationship where you relate to her as as friend, as a father your relationship would change as she becomes more mature. I think the dream gave you an opportunity to process some of the grief associated with this change.

If this seems to fit & you think you have a bit more processing to do, this one does it for me every time :)

I hadn't thought of it that way before. That makes a lot of sense to me. When she was younge we did everything together. The same is true for whe my sister and I were younger. Now, we don't even live in the same state. Now, my daughter barely ever wants me around unless she wants somethiing.
