OK... so I just have to be a proud Mummy in here as well...
Madeleine rolled over 4 times in a row!!! It wasn't a fluke!!!
She has rolled over before, but seemed stunned that she had done it. This time she was just smiling. I wasn't watching the first time and when she rolled over she started making alot of chatty noises to get my attention!!!
I have such a clever baby girl!

SAHMs!! hope y'all are doing well!

It's been a busy summer for us! There was lots of swimming, bike riding, birthday parties, garage sales, etc!
Then there was our trip to Howe Caverns, camping in grandma's yard, fishing with daddy, going to the race track, & the county fair!
the boys had a good one i think! also, Nick and Stephen are playing soccer this year. they have already had a practice each. they are on two different teams, so there will be different practice times and games!
they start school on Sept 4th. i cannot believe i will have 2 in school this year!
Jake and I will have to think of something to do while the other 2 are in school!

We're just starting to get some warmer weather now, so the kids will be able to go outside and play for longer (If zekey starts walking!) and I can hopefully shake this winter laziness ...
It was my baby boy Ezekiel's first birthday yesterday! He's such a cutie, and it's such a nice age. This last year has been absolutely amazing...

How nice has the warmer weather been TNT! I like spring... it's not too hot! Although I am really looking forward to summer this year, Maddie will be 6 months and I want to take her to the pool and the beach. I'm sure she will LOVE to eat lots of sand!!!

I need to get out and lose some weight... I have my baby fat plus a whole lot more from being a bit of a pig over the last couple of months! i'm still in my mat jeans cause my other ones don't fit me anymore and I don't want to buy new bigger ones... At least my mat jeans are SUPER comfy!

lol, I know what you mean angelsgirl. I've put on a couple of kilo's this winter, I just lost motivation (I had been losing weight) and I'm finding it difficult to get it back. I still fit into my clothes (I bought new ones after I had zeke) but they're getting a tad tight which scares me! It all kind of ties in together with what kind of woman/mother I want to be, and a lazy fat one is not what I invisage - but I'm finding it difficult to break away from it...

I'm usually a winter girl, but I'm looking forward to this summer, my boy will be walking and so both the kids can be running around outside, at the zoo, the beach, camping!

DH made a little flower bed especially for Ruth to grow some flowers (all our plants are practical - not pretty! vegies etc.), it was so cute, we put a little strawberry plant in first and she watered it with her own special watering can! She wants red and yellow flowers! lol! And it'll hopefully cut back on her 'helping' in the big garden! lol!

Yes my "baby" will be 3 1/2 at Christmas.

I went shopping today and bought some new tops. My daughter kept telling me "too big mummy" ROFL. If only they were too big. They are size 20 and well, not too big - enough said.

I have just stacked on too much weight and it has to come off. I have no choice in this, it's just not healthy.

not skinny, but healthy. i need to commit to a routine of exercise and healthy eating habits.
did you see the commercial for Jenny Craig? Queen Latiffa joined the band wagon. she looks so good. she's not skinny by all means, but she really looks healthy! that is my goal!

Thankyou, yes it's a very special age - DH is really enjoying this stage, seeing his son emerge from being a baby into a boy! We're so in love with his personality, and he's just adorable too!

I found I lost SO much weight when I was breastfeeding. I went below my pre-pregnancy weight (which was great, i was the biggest i'd been in a long time when I fell pregnant!) and as soon as I stopped the weight piled back on. I'm by no means fat, I'm about a size 12... i guess i just want to lose the fat and be more toned... I haven't weighed myself since having Maddie!

But I was thinking about it yesterday... I want to have lots more kids, so in reality losing the baby fat around my belly probably isn't going to happen long term... I'll finally get it off and then I will fall pregnant again.

I'm just SO not an exercisey person... I don't like getting sweaty at all!!! ick! I have been taking maddie for walks lately only 15-20 mins... i'll build myself up to longer ones i think. I don't want to tyre myself out too much!

I'm not a stay at home mum...but I want to join in and complain about my lack of motivation to lose weight! My Bub will be 7 weeks tomorrow and since losing the fluid weight just after I got out of hospital I haven't really lost any more. I'm not one of those people who the weight just falls off because I'm breastfeeding. I'm hungry all the time!! And I really stacked it on at the end of my pregnancy. Once I was overdue I started gaining 2 kg a week! And I was a few weeks overdue.

Maybe we should do the weight loss challenge in WD...or start our own.

I think I need to eat more often so I don't get sugar cravings.

lol, I know what you ladies mean, do you think winter has something to do with it? I just want to curl up in front of the heater and magically wish my house clean...

I just want to lose enough weight to not be worrying about it, teetering on the edge of healthy/overweight, I do enjoy excercise when I do it, but that motivation is gone and I'm mentally talking myself into easing back into it... Then I get upset at DH for not eating biscuits with me at 10pm

It's a pity we don't live close like we used to Assisi... We could go walking together and even go to the gym together.

Maybe we should start our own... and keep each other motivated!

My MIL just rang, I mentioned to her that I wanted to start walking to lose some weight and she said she wanted to as well. So she rang to see if i wanted to go for a walk today... I was planning on going this arvo (Maddie is still asleep now and I have a friend coming over at 2) so at least now I will have someone to go with!

Hehe TNT... i can totally relate. I complain to DH about not having icecream (with sprinkles and choc chips on it) with me at night too. Bah... it's just that those foods are just SO yummy.

well, you gals are all still young....you will be able to lose it if you are committed and motivated!
I will have a more difficult time of it, but i will try. being in my 40's has placed a damper on my BMR!! LOL!

anywho...my older two boys (nick 6, stephen 5) will be starting school next thursday. they have already had a few soccer practices. and their first games are on saturday sept 6th.

I don't know how i will do this with two in soccer...they are on two different teams. I know I will be running this fall!

Jake's 3rd birthday is coming up on sept 21. any ideas for a party?
i have to plan something b4 i get too busy!

With my dd's 3rd party I just invited all her friends from playgroup - I had lots of adults around too.

I just played simple games like pass the parcel, (which worked really well even though my mum doubted it would lol) dancing around with music, lolly hunt, chasing bubbles.

I kept it short, it was only 1 1/2 hours, and it started in the morning so no-one was ready for naps yet.

I packed on pounds the last month or so with JD, and... I weighed myself 2 weeks ago and weigh what I did only in my 3rd trimester! *insert blood curdling scream here*

With him being as upset as he's been over his teething and all, I haven't been able to get out and about as much as I would like. We have no exercise equipment here, and the nearest gym is in the city... it's just not in our finances for me to go and do it.

My energy is about ... none ... some of it is the weather I know. (It has been so grey out, if it hasn't been outright raining!) The rest is probably lack of sleep. Everytime I get caught up, something else happens to cut down on the sleep.

Marezee, what does your almost 3 year old like? Is there something you can do that is a theme? (say, pirates... aladdin, Superman... etc?)

If so man are there so many things you could do. If He's not really "into" one or the other thing, then you could get some little games together and just do lunch and cake with everyone.

Oh man... i've had a tough couple of days. I'm completely exhausted, and I really don't know why. I'm getting at least 7 hours of uninterrupted sleep at night... But i've been super emotional and feeling like I can't do much!
I know yesterday was because I didn't get to eat lunch, so i was SO tired because of that!
I've wanted to go for a walk the last couple of days but have felt like it would be too much for me. I don't need anything else to make me more tired. I really don't know what my problem is.

marezee... i really hope my kids don't want to play soccer!!! Play a sport that is on at the same place. In reality I think my kids will end up playing hockey as that is what their dad and granddad and auntys and uncles play. Much to my disgust. I find hockey incredibly boring!!!
Party wise... i really don't know. A theme could be good. I guess it depends how many kis/adults you are going invite.

HadassahSukkot... re teething, is there anything that really helps with the pain. I think that is the reason Maddie is so whingy and cryey lately. She isn't normally like that, also she has been throwing tanties too much to my horror. If she throws tantrums now... what on earth is she going to be like when she is 2-3??? Oh dear... i don't even want to contemplate it!

Oh my... look at the time 11.30pm... i need to get to bed! No wonder i am tired...

thanks for the ideas for Jake's party. he likes to pretend he's superman! so many i will go with that. He also loves the "Cars" movie.

RE: teething...there is so much out there for teething pain. there is the oragel for babies that you rub on the gums, and there is always IBP or Tylenol given just b4 bedtime. During the day while she is awake, a teething biscuit or a cold washcloth to bite on helps. i never used the liquid filled teething rings. also, if you have a mesh feeder, you could place chunks of cold fruit in it so she can bite on those.
