My ds got a bug vacuum for his birthday last year.

I can't stand the thing. At the moment it is hidden away somewhere lol. he doesn't really play with it anyway, but when he does I don't like it.

Hey Angelsgirl - A website I really really like for trying new recipes is bestrecipes.com.au I love that site. I go on every day to see if there are any new recipes that I might like to try.

I don't really enjoy cooking but since it's a necessity I figure I may as well just give it my best shot - now baking - that is what I really enjoy but too much baking and well..... yes you fill in the blanks lol. I don't need to be any heavier than what I already am.

Neenie... I'll have to give that website a look!
I was looking through my sweets cook book and found that there were biscuity looking things that are called Madeleines!!! How cool is that. I so have to learn how to make them.
The choc chip cookies were awesome. I think I will make them again. But i think i will try a cake that isn't chocolate next time.

Marezee... SO cute!

Hey folks!

School already starts here in just 2 weeks (the 21st). I am so not ready for summer to end. I've had blast with my kids this summer. It makes me sad that it is ending so soon, and they are growing so fast. Glad I am at home to have these summers with them.

I actually started playing with the idea of finding part time work during the school days, and ya know what, the more I look at it, the less I can see it fitting into my family needs.

Two girls on the verge of periods, my son getting his lip sliced open at gymn class last year and I could be there in 5 minutes to get him to the ER, all the things I pull together during the day to make family time happen at night....kids being at school definitely doesn't make you a non-parent during those hours.

At the same time, I see the economy slowing, and know our lives our dependant upon the realestate market, and I am pulled to find some steady source of income to suppliment it all.

Just thought I would throw that out there...some stay-at-home-mom thoughts.....if you get my drift.

lol, angelsgirl, I'll pm ya! Everytime I make it I get comments, and it gets even better the second day! Actually, I'll probably make one on monday, since tuesday is my best friends b'day and she's coming over for a visit! And I have an old crap oven too, it's on the list of things to replace (that's a long list) and we've run out of money so it'll just have to do for a while! I love fresh bread, still hot with some butter! Delish!

Hi Faithmom, so glad to hear you've had a wonderful summer with your children!

 I hear ya faithmom. I am psuedo-looking for work at home...not very seriously right now. Jake will not be in school full time for another 2 years.
School starts the first week of september here. i actually cannot wait. i'm exhausted.

this past friday we went to Howe Caverns. the boys loved "exploring" the cave. Nick said "it's creepy down here" stephen said "wow, look at that" (pointing to a huge stalagmite -- or was it a stalagtite?) Jake said "Holy shoot!" hahaha! anyway, it was fun. we bought them each a minor hard hat (the ones with the light on the front).
saturday, we jaunted over to MIL's house. her town was having a town-wide garage sale. DH found a couple of good deals for some tools he wanted, & i found a serving plate for a dime, a snow suit for Jake for $5, a raincoat for Nick for $1, and wooden folding chairs for $2/each (we bought 8 of them!).
then DH decided he and the boys were going to camp out in MIL's backyard! boy, i tell ya! spontenaity is not my strong suit! but i agreed.
long about 11:30pm, Jake started screaming! i think he awoke and was disoriented as to where he was. i could not calm him down. half an hour later, Jake still screaming, i told DH that i was taking him home or no one was going to sleep that night! LOL! so i drove jake and I home and went back sunday morning for DH & the other two boys.
i guess we won't be doing that again too soon!
hope everyone had a great weekend.
