Yep I really relate to these posts. My dh has been working from home the last month or so and now gets what I do all day. So now when I ask if he can bring in the washing (unless he is doing paid work, which if we didn't have it we wouldn't eat obviously) he will bring it in and today he even folded it.

I have been sick, I have had the flu for 2 weeks, I need antibiotics because it's an infection now. I don't like taking antibiotics but I need to get better.

I have my daughters birthday party next weekend, and I need to clean and reorganise the kids toys. I have all sorts of baby toys hanging around, which need to either go to charity or stored for possible future use. I think now that dd is going to turn 3 next week, a lot of the baby/toddler toys are way too babyish. But I have to do this when she is in bed because she gets interested in the toys again and wants to play with them.

My old boss told me the only reason I wanted to get pregnant was so that I could stay at home all day and do nothing. It really used to annoy me... thankfully I don't work for him anymore.

Granted at the moment I don't do alot... My baby is only 6 weeks old. So I don't do alot of housework. My house is a mess. But Maddie will only be little for such a short amount of time. So I spend alot of time with her... Feeding her can take hours and hours... so I'm on the couch watching DVD's when she is feeding. And now she is more alert I talk to her, sing to her and tell her little stories.
But now she is getting a little older, i can put her down and start doing more. I can't wait to have a clean and tidy house again. But atm it is more important that I spend as much time as possible with my Madeleine!!!

Hey ladies, its been a wild morning, ontop of me being sick the last few days, I'm feeling better, and my house looked sick, and I can't deal with a dirty house erk. So all day today, I been working on cleaning, I'm finally done, I tore Seth's room apart and cleaned it really good, he has this thing where every night before bed he wants to go in his room and take every toy out of the toy box. Then he falls asleep and I wake him up and tell him to go in his room and clean it, of course he is so tired he can't get it all done, so the morning time is spent cleaning  so I went in and reorginized things, and hopefully it'll help keep things cleaned up better.... I see him now tragging toys in, I just had to stop him, he'll bring his toybox in here if I'd let him... I'm pooped.
glad you are feeling better melly! toys seem to take on their own life and multiply don't they? we have a playroom for the boys, and the toys are still all over the house!! Sometimes i feel it is a losing battle. but we have to keep it under control! bless you!

your old boss didn't know crap! shame on him! and bless you for wanting to enjoy your little one right now!! you are still healing from giving birth, and bonding with your little girl! that should be what is most important right now. you are right...this time will be so short and you will not get it back, so take all the time you need to heal and be with her. the housework can wait.:angel:

Thanks for your well wishes. Those antibiotics are starting to kick in.

Ds is a little sick too, but not sick like I have been. (It's Winter here, and it's cold and flu season) We stayed home from church and dh took dd with him.

So ds and I just sat in front of the computer, playing maths games etc.

HI everyone; I sure missed all you SAHMs and the fellowship here!!!

I was really dreading summer becuz of two young sisters who don't always get along, a very, very hot summer in which we have to try to stay cool, and a lack of extra spending money.

But so far, we only had two bad days, and a couple of days where they had stomach upset (so no swimming), but this coming week, we will swim, go to the splash park, and maybe McDs or something for some indoor play.

Do any of you stay at home moms work from home? I am considering my options.

I think I might have found a way to bring in some money, but I'll tell ya how good it works out, after I get started lol, I'm working on my first pack today... But its designing glitters, photo album covers, music covers, and stuff like that for myspace resource sites, they will buy them, and I can do my marketing on another forum...

that is true coolmom!

today was raining here in NY, so i brought the boys to our fav indoor spot.
They had fun.

Today was also Nick's last day of school....good bye kindegarten, hello 1st grade! He did excellent in K. In letter/word/reading/writting skills he scored a 98, which is advanced. In concepts/time/money/numbers/problem solving, he scored a 50, which is proficient. in math his average was 97%. he still has difficulty with changes in schedule and transitioning. but we are so proud of him!
he says he is scared of 1st grade. but i think he will do well.

Stephen will be entering kindegarten this fall, so i will have 2 in school all day.
I will have to think of some things for Jake and I to do. The preschool that Stephen went to will not take Jake until he is three (he will be three on 9/21), and not b4. So maybe i won't send him to preschool until he is 4 next year.
maybe i will be able to go to the ymca! that would be cool.

lol coolmom, I'm a winter girl too! We had the requisite winter sickness go through the house last week, I ended up the worst off of course! Fever of nearly 40 degrees C with chills and not holding anything down... not fun at all. Hopefully thats the worst we get hit with this year!
Ruth turns 3 in just over a week! She has just started trying to write her name, pretty legibly too!, I'm so proud of her.
I'm sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo thankful that I'm a stay at home mama, Ezekiel (10 months) tires and tests me a lot at the moment, I'm so glad I have no other stress'...

My daughter is 3 next week. While the playschool I would send her to, takes them at 3 (which means she could start next term if she was toilet trained lol - she's not yet, but we will do it at Christmas which is our Summer) I will probably wait until next year. She has problems with her legs which makes her gross motor skills at least 6 - 12 months behind what other kids are doing, so I will try to hold her back from playschool as long as I possibly can. She goes to playgroup, and I have decided Wednesday morning is our "craft" time so she is getting a chance to do some different activities that will help her later on. I have no worries making her wait a while, ds didn't start pre-school until 4, but dd is really very very very social.

Wow your dd is writing her name at not quite 3? That's pretty amazing. How did you get her writing her name? My dd is 3 on Monday and nowhere near writing.

Neenie, if you want a play activity for writing shaving cream is excellent ~ or that whipped cream in a can. Spread some on a baking tray & have dd write using her finger. We used to do it in the sand at the beach too. My youngest started this way & was writing her name at 3 though it took us a while to transition to a regular pencil; nowhere near as much fun.:D

Sorry neenie, didn't see this reply!

Well, we've just been getting her to copy letters, teaching her to draw them in a nice big easy way (like with A - we use capitals at this stage - counting 1,2,3 big lines). Then I'll write her name, and she'll copy underneath. We did this mostly with whiteboard markers on her whiteboard. She can recognise her name - and the letters in it. We also have one of those workbooks which has the light letters you can trace. A few months of that and she was getting better with using a pencil... She also has a short easy name! RUTH. I doubt EZEKIEL will be writing his whole name at 3! lol. I don't know, we certainly don't push her, maybe it's personality? She's always enjoyed dexterous (sp?) activities... She turned 3, 3 days ago! My big girl! *sniff sniff*
