Russia launched its most intense ever air attack on Ukraine, overcoming its defenses with drones, airstrikes and powerful missiles​

Russia launched its biggest-ever wave of attacks on Ukrainian cities overnight using hundreds of missiles and drones.

Ukrainian officials said that the attacks struck Ukrainian capital Kyiv in the north, the cities of Dnipro and Kharkiv in the east, Lviv in the west, and Odesa in the south from late Thursday into early Friday.

Air Force commander Mykola Oleshchuk described it as "the most massive aerial attack" since Russia launched its invasion, reported the Associated Press.

Ukraine's Air Force spokesperson Yuriy Ihnat said "we've never seen so many targets hit simultaneously," reported the BBC.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine's president, on X said that Russia 110 missiles at Ukraine overnight, including high-speed "kinzhal" missiles, cruise missiles, and drones.

Yeah, attacking cities. Innocent civilians. If Putin was 1% as smart as he thinks he is, he would be directing attacks against military targets. He should know better. Hitler tried the same thing in WW2. That ended badly, to say the least. Putin is saying to the West, "Today Ukraine, tomorrow Poland" or something to that effect. The Poles are not stupid. They are rearming big time. If the West allows Putin to annex Ukraine, Europe is next. Russia should be bombed back to the stone age. It won't happen because Europe threw away its spine when the USSR collapsed. It had better grow a new one quickly.

In the "Blitz" of 1940/1941, the Luftwaffe did its most massive raids even as the campaign was faltering due to excessive losses. And the object (to bring down British morale) was an utter failure.

Like all dictators, Putin assumes most people think as he does. But he's only hardened the Ukrainian will to win.

What an absurd statement. There is no buffer zone in modern warfare. Modern weapons can "reach out and touch somebody" half way around the globe. Why do you think NATO was formed in the first place? Hint. It was not because the USSR was a warm and friendly democracy anxious to be a part of Europe. Putin wants to restore Russia to its former glory. He will go the way of Napoleon, Hitler, Mussolini and other megalomaniacs who suffer delusions of grandeur. He's said publicly that he wants the USSR to be restored. That means Poland and East Germany as well as the smaller nations that he's already attacked. Tell me which part of Russia NATO has attacked since its inception? There are no "good guys" in the world system. There are degrees of evil. Russia is near top of the list.

I don't think this "war" was ever about winning, it was designed to be drawn out as long as possible in order to "milk" tax payer money as well as bolster some stocks within the arms sector. The people "at the top" of the government are making a nice lump of change from all of this.

Plus, Ukraine isn't a "good place" so to speak either, I remember prior to this conflict how the MSM were coming down hard on Zelensky and Ukraine for human trafficking etc. Funny how that's all now forgotten. I DO however feel horrible for the innocent men, women and especially the children on both sides who are caught up in this nonsense.

Strange, it was in Norwegian newspapers. They tend to be rather left leaning, so weird they'd go with it if it was false. (Hence why I assumed it to be a legitimate story.)

Either way, anyone who read my post my want to do their own independent fact check on the yacht claim.

Even more reason to launch a preemptive strike. Stupid Putin is using Kinzahl's to attack civilians. You don't know much about modern missiles, do you? Hypersonic missiles are easy to track. They get red hot in flight. There are defence systems that can destroy hypersonic weapons. Hypersonic missiles are expensive, hard to make and easy to detect. Modern lasers are powerful enough to damage a missile and cause it to break up in flight. Even Putin is not dumb enough to launch a nuclear strike. NATO has enough non-nuclear firepower to crush Russia like a bug.

That's the point; Putin has convinced Europe of two things:
1. his military is not capable of winning a war against Ukraine; a more powerful army like that of Germany or Sweden would easily take down what's left of the Russian army.
2. Nevertheless, Putin is reckless and dangerous and understands only force.

Putin is a liar and a war criminal. It was not only homosexuality that condemned Sodom and Gomorrah. Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying that homosexuality is ok. "Look, this was the iniquity of your sister Sodom: She and her daughter had pride, fullness of food, and abundance of idleness; neither did she strengthen the hand of the poor and needy." Ezekiel 16:49.

Russia could be helping the people of Europe and elsewhere, especially the poorer nations. Instead, Russian oligarchs profit by breathtaking corruption, buying ships that cost millions while many in Russia live in poverty. I suggest a bit of reverse migration for you, that's if you are not a Russian troll anyway. Go live in Russia. Many of their most talented people have left already. There should be plenty of room for you.

I agree that Russian wins points on that one.

But they lose on many humanitarian, human rights, good-actor scales when it comes to who is known for bullying and invading their neighbors while generally threatening mankind with nuclear war and horrific war crimes.
