  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

Thank you, I am. Just noticed your tag line. The little girl at left was the best non-human friend I have ever had. She was totally loving, totally loyal and totally fearless (to the point of stupidity).
Yeah true :) little/big bad Bob lol

No. It means don't do things that put Him in a situation where He MUST act. For instance, refusing medical treatment for a life threatening illness (e.g., a ruptured appendix)

Perhaps better expressed as, "Do not put Him in a situation in which He must act to prove your point."

There is an old Muslim saying: "Should I tie my camel or trust God?"

Old Hindu fisherman's proverb ---- "Pray to God but row away from the rocks."

Should we as Christians who have accepted Jesus as our Saviour, rely on him in times of illness. Or run to the doctors for help in this age? :)

Luke of the Bible was a doctor.

Because that is manipulation. God cannot be manipulated. Manipulating the gods is the pagan form of magic.
Asking God for something and knowing that you received it is in line with scripture.......But i wouldn't not advise you to try it..

If you can not get God to heal you, you might go to a doctor. Doctors have limitations. What if a doctor told a patient to stop smoking and the patient did not believe him/her?

Let me know how that goes for you when you have your first heart attack.
I will never have one. I have rejected your gift of sickness, now you have to take it back and recieve it unto yourself. Prayers are very powerful and shouldn't be taken lightly. You will soon understand why we are to only wish good on others, even our enemies. Good luck to you.

Cool! Thanks :). so its not turning our back on Jesus if we seek help from man? I mean He made them to be doctors! Yeah?

God wants us to have a relationship with Him, but God also wants us to have a relationship with others. We need each other. You have gifts and revelation that others don't have and vice-versa. Pray and God will lead you where to go. We can’t do life alone.
