Lord Edward sat at his table, reading a book.
"My lord, a man named Rahke would like to see you, sir." a maidservant said, coming into the room, and bowing.
"Yes. Show him in." Lord Edward said, turning around in his chair. He pulled the hood of his cloak up, to cover his face.
"Rahke, you have done well on your assignment. Reach into the third drawer on the cuppord to your left; you'll find the payment for the job, as promised. A little birdy tells me that your jealous that Jared is getting the next job.....The one to kill the royal heir, Prince Eli? Is there a particular reason you would want this money?" Lord Edward said, playing with a few gold coins in his hand.

Joseph entered a nearby tavern near the museum. He was glad he had fed the day before, when it was cloudy outside--else he would be thirsty now, and he would be dead.
Joseph looked around for an empty table. There were none. He shrugged,a nd walked over to a nearby table, where a man and a woman were sitting.
"Do you mind if I join you two?" he asked, his liquid topaz eyes glimmering in the dim light. He held an indifferent expression, trying to resist the tempting smell of human blood all around him.
