Thank you. And it was a correct observation as well, for to say that Catholics worship any man as God is a blatant lie - period.
I should not be the only Catholic offended by this remark.

The "context of the Bible" in its entirety is much broader than the context of any given passage within it.
In understanding any comment, one must understand the context of the comment to accurately understand its intended meaning.

1 : the parts of a discourse that surround a word or passage and can throw light on its meaning 2 : the interrelated conditions in which something exists or occurs : environment , setting <the historical context of the war>

So, context is determined by examining the parts of a discourse that surround the word or passage & reveal its interrelated conditions. In this case it is the condition of the word "father" being used AS A TITLE of RELIGIOUS authority.
It is NOT being used as a title of family position. So the appeal to that argument is bogus.

No one said romans worship some man as God. What I said was that honor is given to men that should be God's alone, and I did not limit that to just romans.

If you are going to be offended you should at least get your facts straight first so you know what you are being offended over. Also, you should acknowledge the whole statement and the truth in it instead of accusing someone of telling lies (which is calling someone a liar, it is not a simple observation.


All that aside, simply because someone disagrees with a denominations position and they post as such does not mean they are telling lies. Of course, one of the rcc many errors is thinking that any disagreement with its teachings is a rejection of Christ. So, their accusations are at least understandable given the information they have to work with.

He didn't say "adoration". He said "unhealthy sinful adoration".
They don't confuse men with God ("as God") they give men glory that is God's.
It isn't exactly the same thing but it is as close to being the same thing as you can get.

Every christian faith group has errors. It started with , I am of Paul, I am of Apollos. Flesh brought about schisms and divisions which will continue till the catching away of all true believers to meet Christ in the clouds!
