The CC is not perfect, but neither am I. The CC is run by sinners, as I myself am. The CC has made mistakes, just like me. The CC has battled many a mighty storm, just like humanity itself. The Holy Spirit guided the church through all its troubles, cutting through the high seas.

It is still afloat! Others have tried to sink it but have failed. This is why it is the true church of Christ. Unsinkable.

Certainly, any of the Orthodox denominations can make the same claims.

Not always. Some of the most controversial doctrines are based upon Tradition instead of Scripture and have no Biblical basis whatsoever. They are defended by the unprovable claim that such was what the Apostles taught--or the church since its beginning--ergo, they must be true.

Agreed.

Islam has survived almost 1500 years so by your logic that must be of God too.

Zoroastrianism has been around for over 3500 years so that must be of God too.

For that matter Judaism has been around for 4,000 years so truly God that is an acceptable way as well.

Point being just because something has stood the test of time does not mean it is of God. That is a very human way of thinking.

Better dust off your catechism. That's not a Catholic doctrine.
Pope Pius XII, in Munificentissimus Deus (1950), defined that Mary, "after the completion of her earthly life" (note the silence regarding her death), "was assumed body and soul into the glory of heaven."

What you are saying is your religious organization has the same moral standards as the world, and the worldy schools etc...that sure explains the misconduct and other deviations from the Christian walk.

Agreed.

2 Corinthians 6:17....................
"Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you."

The post I quoted said that our Blessed Mother ascended into Heaven. Memo to sola scripturists: reading comprehension matters.

Nah. Its junk history and bunk theology. I can understand why you find it attractive though.

John 8:32..............

Isn't that what the post confirmed?

Sola Scriptura has nothing to do with it.

Goatee didn't say anything about the test of time. He talked about the Church surviving the storms that have been constantly thrown at her. A mere human institution would have collapsed a long time ago, and we would all be Arians.

Christ ascended into Heaven by His own power. Mary was assumed into Heaven by the power of God.

If the sola scripturist doesn't know the difference, perhaps he should disqualify himself from the conversation. As it is written, 'if you can't be trusted with the small things, you can't be trusted with the larger things'.

Like I said, reading comprehension matters.

And what is the validation of such a number?

A 2000 year teaching magisterium of which the gates of hell have not prevailed.

If it's not from Heaven. Let it fall.

Can you post the Bible verses that validate your claim that the Catholic church has that magisterium.
