There are 3 new show a week. One where they all sing, one where one (or two) are voted off, and one where it is the clinics etc...

I love Deanna's voice. She sang Joplin her first time out. Her second song blew me away. I think the third song (the rem song) she tried to make her voice fit the music and it doesn't always work out that way. She was too nervous for the last song she sang. I agree that she needs to trust her voice more. But sadly, i don't think that she is INXS material. She could climb so much higher on her own.

I like Heather, but again she isn't INXS.

I don't like J.D. because of his attitude. His singing is ok, but I just don't feel it.

I like Jordiss as well. She is awsome.

Now on to the comment about their tattoos and judging them on looks.
Out of all the reality shows I watch, the people here are just so nice to each other. They bonded and they help eachother. They have shown more character than any other group of people in these TV compatitions. I have found that the "outcasts" (of which I am a proud member) of society are the first to help out a friend, have the kindest hearts, and are just looking to find their own niche in life. To judge someone because of their character is so much more "anti-christian" than watching "those" people. As a christian you should know better. God looks at the heart, who are we to judge on apparences alone? We are suppose to love EVERYONE not just those who fit into a mold that is acceptable to society. Why don't you instead, go out and figure out for yourself what kind of person they are on the inside.

Ok rant over. Sorry, but I had to get that off my chest.

tali's running critique.........

overall, this weeks performances were a VAST improvement over last week's....

MiG - I thoroughly enjoyed his performance of "We Will Rock You" -- A

Deanna - a little gratuitous, but the singing was sooooo much better than last week. I hope she knows that as a bona fide star, she will not be able to get out in the crowd like that, it'd be too dangerous. -- B+

Marty - his performance was not quite as good as last week's IMHO, but it was still good. He has that whole half-insane stage persona going; I liked the "mad conductor" thing. -- B+

Ty - First, I am growing weary of the mohawk. He really tried to give INXS what they wanted, but I don't like how he comes off (though I liked this week's performance better than last week's) -- B-

Jessica - MUCH, MUCH, MUCH better - I even considered voting for her after her performance of "Blister in the Sun" - she was truly an INXS style singer tonight. Not overly trampy and not stiff at all. -- A-

Brandon - He seemed really FAKE. I didn't buy it. Similar vibes I got from Ty's performance, and the singing wasn't as good. -- C

Jordiss - I thought she was (to borrow a term) a little "pitchy" at the beginning, and I wondered why she wore the baggy tee-shirt, but those are truly small considerations. I'm very fond of her - if she goes solo, I'll buy her CDs (I buy VERY few secular CDs) - and she continues to be modest both in dress and in affect. -- A-

JD - He delivered "The Letter!" Truly a wonderful performance -- I agreed with Dave's review. The problem is, if I were one of the members of INXS, I would not want to work with him. He's a conniving, manipulative jerk. In a word, immature. He needs to watch Hoosiers several times.... -- performance gets an A

Tara - She continues to bore me. I love Sting's music, and listening to her rendition of one of his songs was like pulling a mule through a bog. D+

Susie - She looked soooooooo much more natural, free, comfortable, and honest tonight. I loved watching her work with the band, and her laid-back rendition of the vocals on "Get Back" was respectful and worthy. A-

I ended up casting my vote for MiG.

Yeah, I voted for MiG this time because his performance was better than Marty's this time, but I think Marty could work out better, and he needs it more than MiG. I think MiG could make it big on Broadway, along with Ty.

Well I am voting for a lost cause, I know, but I like Deanna's voice. She isn't right for INXS, but that is OK. I was never a big INXS fan anyways.

I do not like JD as a person and was so hoping that he messed up the song, but even I must admit that he did a great job.

I agree that Jordis, the blond, and mig are the best suited for INXS.

Hey Tal, I like your idea of giving them a letter grade- I may steal it!

first off,
I like Mig- I really do. But his performance of We Will Rock You just didn't rock me! It was ok, but hey....

Deanna, I thought, I really truly thought that that was a pitchy vocal performance and her sleaziest dressing so far.

I really did NOT like Marty's rendition of Arms Wide Open but I never liked that song to begin with to be fair.

I didn't know Ty's song either which was kind of funny, so I thought he did a pretty good job on a song he didn't know only a week ago.

I really enjoyed Jessica's Blister In the Sun - fun, energetic, playful. I find myself cheering for her but I'm sure she isn't what the band is looking for.

Brandon did SO much better than I expected him to. He carried the melody and rythym! Props to him. I love his intensity. I love his weird "looks." I love his humility.

Jordiss- I love her. I love her. I love her. She is wise and talented beyond her years. A complete class act.

J.D. was amazing. It's really a crying shame that he's a jerk. That alone would be enough for me NOT to want to take him. I also see alcohol problems in his future if he doesn't find himself soon.

Tara makes me embarrassed to be Canadian- I SWEAR we're not all that boring!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's gone this week.

Suzie I totally adore. I enjoyed her performance WITH THE BAND. Amen. I don't think she's what they're looking for either though.

As I was saying....

Wasn't ty adorable crying?...that gets me every time.

Poor Brandon was just awful. I would totally appreciate him doing some Tom Petty.

annnnnnnnnd we're back..........

Suzie - Losing my Religion - I don't really like the song, but I thought she did a good job - and she finally looks honest singing something. I still don't see her fronting INXS though. B+

MiG - All Right Now - very good performance - I agree with what the guys said, he needs to do a ballad or something softer next time - something more vulnerable. I do think he has the stuff to front the band, though. B+

JD - Crazy - this is one of my favorite songs, and I just don't think JD hit it. It's like he tried too hard. Not a bad performance, just not great. C+

Jessica - Come as You Are - I could tell she was passionate about this song, but it is just not "her" - she is way more "funsy" than that song. I don't think she even came close to Marty's Nirvana performance. C

Jordis - Layla - She sang very well, of course, but it's a song for a man to sing - bad choice. I agree it wasn't her best performance, but she still shines like a star. B

Brandon - It's all Over Now - He was awesome, but he's a one-tricker. For this performance alone - A-

Marty - Mr. Brightside - He sounded like Syd Barrett. Syd Barrett is one of my favorite all-time rock stars. I LOVED it. A+ (I voted for him, again)

Deanna - Long Train Runnin' - Like Brandon, she is very good at what she does. But I don't know if she can pull off INXS. I'd like to hear her sing INXS tomorrow night, but I will not be home *I'll be singing* - for tonight's performance -- B+

Ty - No woman, No Cry - He did sooooo well -- I think there's actually a human being in there. Problem is, he sounded way too much like Bob Marley ;) - A-

My pick for bottom three: Jessica, Brandon, and JD

peace, out

Hey folks!

Right off the bat- Suzie's performance I really enjoyed. I love Losing My Religion and I thought it was a risky move to mix it up. Also thought that JD might have been deliberately giving her garbage but she seemed excited by the idea right off the bat.
Credit her for saying that it was JD's idea- he gets props for creativity even when he's not singing...
Anyway I thought she did a great job as well but I don't think she's INXS material either. I give her performance an A-

Mig doing "All Right Now" was a lot of fun. He totally looks the part for INXS and being Australian sure ain't gonna hurt him. It was rockin' but it was fairly standard, get my drift? i was not moved by any means. B

JD- I have to admit I'm really pulling for him. There seems to be nobody more ambitious in the crowd. There is an air of phoniness about him, he has been underhanded and he's a sloppy drunk but I like him. (??????) I feel him. tonights' performance of Crazy was not his greatest but I still felt it was good His voice is so distinctive and masculine B

Jessica- pull up your pants girl, please. Ice cold performance for me as well. I feel for her. D+

Jordiss- her first snorefest for me. I mean, yeah, she sang it well but it's true- it IS a song for a guy. NO passion there. Still dressing modestly and nice to see. B- I hope she goes solo after all this. I'd love to hear some originals by her.

Brandon- It's All Over Now- amen Talitha, he IS a one trick pony but what a trick!!! He was just great- what a blast he seemed to be having! good for him! I noticed though that his timing was off at least twice- once behind and once ahead. He's not INXS material either though- he needs to find a Black Crowes type band somewhere. A

Marty- Mr.Brightside- one word- fantastic. He's INXS material too. A

Deanna- I really like the doobie brothers and I really enjoyed this tailor made song for Deanna. She did a great job- one thing though, I wish she'd stop making so many "hey! oh yeah! come on now!" punctuations to break up the song- I just find it annoying after a while. It sounds cleaner without them all. I also think she's totally wrong for INXS but has a Cheryl Crow thing going on and I think she'll make it big. I mean, look at her for cryin' out loud.

Ty- no woman no cry. REally pretty, very soulful I liked it a lot until he massacred that last note. And yes, I totally see Ty on Broadway. He's too big for INXS. B+

Talitha- hope you had a good show!!!!!!

Gotta do this quick and get to bed!

JOrdiss- KNockin on Heaven's Door. A+
What a freshness! GOOSEBUMPS!!! So different. I loved her higher notes at the beginning of the chorus. Just WOW.

Jessica Torn A-
She moved me- she really did. She was beautiful. He best performance yet.

Ty Maggie May- B
I really liked the tambourine at first- when he kicked into "All I needed was a friend to lend..." I felt he picked it up then but it didn't quite have the spark I was hoping for.

Suzie-Bring It on HOme to Me A+
looked beautiful, sounded amazing- I loved her laugh at the end- she is adorable and so genuine- I love her.

Marty- Baby ONe more Time A+
I laughed, I cried (ok I didn't cry but man did I laugh) boy oh boy THAT was totally FUN It gave me goosebumps.
Two words- Britney who?

Deanna- I can't Make you love Me C+
She just couldn't make it work for me. It didn't move me at all. sorry deanna

J.D. As Tears Go by B-
Not great. I was bored.

Mig- baby I love your way A-
I had a B+ but have to bump him up a grade for the piano- nice job

Jordis- Knockin on Heaven's Door - B+ - I absolutely love her, but first of all she was off-key at the beginning, and secondly she changed the melody of the chorus - the integrity of the song was compromised. That's my opinion. I was surprised at the comments of INXS. Sometimes I wonder if they can hear when people are off-key.

Jessica - Torn - B - I agree this was her best performance yet, but I just don't think she "has it." I really want to tell her about Jesus....

Ty - Maggie May- C - I liked the tambourine at first too, but then I got to looking - the leather jacket with no shirt and the ugliest plaid pants and the tamborine - he looked seriously awful. And he seemed insincere when he was singing, especially with the tongue thing - what was that? Has the man ever had a real emotion in his life? And once I think he said "Mary" instead of Maggie.

Suzie - Bring It on HOme to Me - A - I agree with you totally, NC. I like the Gwen-Stefani-like look on her, it becomes her. But everything she wears, including the nose ring, looks like a costume to me. I think she's a straying Christian who needs to be brought back home. That's just what I see. Anyhoo, about this performance - it was a KNOCKOUT! And I loved her laugh at the end too.

Marty- Baby One more Time - A+ - I agree - Britney who? He gave this song an edge, which it needed. I loved it. I didn't really like the back-up singing, it brought Brit back to mind - but that was minor - I just loved the insanity of Marty's version. My husband said he turned it into the ballad of the abused husband. Yeah, sorta. hehe....

Deanna - I can't Make you love Me - B - Here's the deal - I thought it worked, except looking at her I could tell she was very uncomfortable. She needed to just go with the broken-down thing - the sound of her voice was like an aging blues singer, which she is. It's real. I mean, her voice has aged faster than the rest of her - probably chemical and vocal abuse - but if that's what it is, just use it. When she left the stage she looked defeated. I hope the other rockers gave her some lovin' later on. A nice sorbet and a foot massage maybe.

J.D. - As Tears Go by - B - I liked it, but it lacked some sincerity. He was trying too hard, still. That's just immaturity, but INXS doesn't need the immaturity.

Mig- baby I love your way - B+ - I didn't bump him up, because he ended the song on an off-key note. That is just ewww. I loved it all the way up to that, and the reason I let this be as high as a B+ was that I'm chalking the last note up to a combination of a release of nerves and husbandly emotion (if I remember correctly, he's married).

Obviously I voted for Marty again.

I've only seen this twice for a few minutes at a time so I don't know anyone's name. I did see the blonde dude-David Bowie wannabee--do his acoustic solos Mr. Brightside. I thought it was very well done. I haven't seen any of his other perfomances.

Me too- and I want to beg her not to go back into the sex trade.

btw, at the web sites, all the rockers have blogs- maybe you can write to her.

btw- HIlarious what you said about TY not having an emotion- and tell your hubby his abused husband ballad quip was laugh out loud funny.

I read on Suzie's blog that she did some kind of purification ceremony at the mansion on someone's old bed- I thought "oh boy...":(

Jessica got the boot.

This is who I think will go next-
Deanna
Suzie
Ty
JD
Mig
Jordiss
and I think Marty will win the whole thing

Not that I agree with this order PLUS a rotten or stellar performance could change things completely.

I think the voting public, which if it follows most reality shows is mostly female, wants a man up front. However, they really like Jordiss because of her staggering talent and modest dress- nobody feels threatened around her.
So I think she will take second place which will be great for her- she'll be snatched up in no time- they'll be fighting to produce her- who knows, INXS might even do it!

It's that time again!

Suzie - Start me up- Poor desperate Suzie pulling out all the stops. Her attitude was clearly different from the get go and I have to say that I really dug her performance. too bad the song's for a guy. She was solid all the way. I hope she makes at least one more cut.

J.D. Cold As Ice- The start bored me. He never really kicked it into gear for me but that's one of my favourite old tunes so maybe he never had a chance.

Deanna- Original- I loved it! She had amazing energy , she looked fantastic, her voice was incredible- great little hook in the chorus- I loved the "My Truth" line. she and Ty should write together in the future- great team.
By the way- check out her blog- SHE'S A CHRISTIAN.

Ty- Proud Mary- wow- just wow. just freakin' wow. I loved the slow bluesy start and then MAN oh MAN! rockin energy! what charisma! what FUN!!!! The band was amazing and the girls were amazing too.

Mig-Original- cookie cutter song, not much energy in it- I was bored.

Marty-I Alone- I think he's too dark for INXS. I don't think he'll be their man. Shaky voice, off key

Jordiss- Dream On- "the past is goooooone...." and thank God for that. Gone was off key and it was downhill from there. I don't think she was able to make "the" note because her heart wasn't in it. HOWEVER- I love her honesty. She's still my favourite performer.

Now I have no idea.I don't think any of them are right for the band.
They should keep looking.
I love Marty, but he isn't right for the band.
Are they really gonna hire one of these people?
We'll just wait and see.
I couldn't vote tonite.
I don't "feel" any of them have what it takes to sing INXS's songs.

Wow, I am not in sync with you this week, New Creation......

Here's my weekly assessment:

Suzie -- Start Me Up - I don't think her voice is well-suited to rocknroll. I didn't understand why the boyz were so thrilled with her performance - it was kinda white bread, I thought, except for the theatrics (which I enjoyed, particularly the romp with the other rockers at the end).... B

JD -- Cold As Ice - I loved it! Yup, I voted for him this week. I think he has the stuff to front the band. And it seems the girlies love him.... A+

Deanna -- My Truth - This, I think was her best performance yet. I was surprised. However, I still don't think she's right for INXS.... A

Ty -- Proud Mary - He's talented, but he annoys me. I'm sorry, I just can't deal with him.... B+

MiG -- Do Or Die - Hmm.... I disagreed with the band; I thought his song was very INXS. I really enjoyed it and considered voting for him, but JD won out. This time.... A+

Marty -- I Alone - He was, um, scary. And perhaps the weirdest thing about him - his perfect teeth. I thought his performance was well-executed, but I think he's headed for a solo career.... B+

Jordis -- Dream On - Ohhh that was painful.... C-

I hear ya brother- I don't think any of them are really suited for INXS either.
JD is the closest thing to their man I think but he'll be nothing but trouble.

Maybe we were watching different shows eh Tal?
