ah, our little club! lol
I'm with both of you, Marty's the man for the job. Even my husband was excited about his performance last night, and it takes a lot to get him into it.
It's hard to decide things with the minisets, because I think the transitions between songs were generally awkward.... but it
was interesting.

Come as you are - bo-ring. I found the first part annoying. By the time he "kicked into it," I had already lost interest and was talking to my husband. His immediate transition into
Pretty Vegas was maybe the best segueway of the night, though, and I think his original song was second only to Marty's. I got into "Pretty Vegas," and I thought it would fly as an INXS song (of course, the tracks were all written by INXS, right?) I also enjoyed the sound effects. It was fun.

I Can't Make You Love Me - I totally agree with you, NC. It kind of fell flat - and I could see Jordis's influence all over it. It would've come off more genuine from Jordis. The transition must've been okay, because I don't remember it, really, other than I noticed that the slit in her skirt was too high for comfort - otherwise she looked beautiful.
Soul Life - I thought the song was too preachy, a common mistake among beginning song-writers, but it wasn't bad. She dedicated it to Ty, and it sounded an awful lot like something Ty would write. Not like an INXS song. I'm sorry, Suzie doesn't belong in rocknroll. She would be better in the whole "diva" arena, like a Celine Dion, and she'd probably make more money.

Hard To Handle - I thought his rendition was kind of blah. I didn't believe him. He would not be "hard to handle" - he's the Nice Guy, no matter how hard he may try to disguise that. The guitar solo was great, but that's good on the house band.... The transition was awkward with the stage hands bringing in the keyboard and the problems, it seemed, with the PA system at that point. Hard to blame him for those problems, but they contributed to the awkwardness.
Home in Me - I didn't like the song either. It was kind of juvenile, and it also seemed to me that he wasn't carrying the tune really well - that could've been partially due to the PA problems; I know sometimes it's hard to hear when you're on stage, and I didn't see a moniter near him. The fact that I even
thought about all of that is another indicator that the song just didn't grab me. What a let-down after last week.

Jordis - First of all, she looked like an unmade bed with some blue eyeliner slapped on. Not appealing. Then her rendition of
We are The Champion didn't quite 'get there,' IMHO. I expected more out of her. I did like the flash of anger I saw, but there was not enough of it. This was better than JD's rendition, but that's not saying much. Transition was okay, but I agree with Dave, she seems to lack the fire and passion that she had at the beginning of the series. I liked
Try Not. I was wanting to sing along with her - it was fun, and she
almost brought herself out of the hole with that. To me it sounded like an INXS song.

Everlong - I didn't really like his rendition, but I appreciated what he was trying to do in staying with INXS's suggestions. I just hope he doesn't sell his soul to get this job, know what I mean? The transition was kind of dumb and too much talking, but...... I'm with you, NC. I thought the song was fun, fun, fun! "The best song and performance of the night.

" I agree with your comment comparing him and JD. I think I'm irreparably behind Marty now, after that song.
He's #1!!
I think Jordis will be the next Rocker to go, but I don't agree with that. I would vote Suzie or JD off first.
