Sadly it's a steady undercurrent, especially in the east of germany, where this happened. There is a relatively popular new right party, the AfD, which has made great inroads in many parts of germany. It's not explicitly an antisemitic party, but I'm sure a lot of its members hold such views.

And it only takes a single nutjob with a hunting license.

I think this is a terrible example of anti-semitism. I'm glad he was stopped.

Let's keep things in perspective though....he's not involved in Germany's foreign policy and advocating the destruction of Israel through sanctions.

Another thing worth mentioning is that the killer had to rely on homemade guns because of our strict gun laws preventing him from just buying them at the next supermarket.

Strict gun laws literally saved lives because his guns malfunctioned multiple times allowing people to escape.
