Was it only last week that I found CF?
Now, to the phone, I'm conveniently deaf.
I find myself thinking 'bout all the cool posts
And wondering which game I enjoy the most.
I was a little upset, I have to admit,
When the servers were down for a little bit! :(
So I guess what I'm saying is you're all cool
And I'm really very glad to know you all.

Joyshirley, you surely bring joy to my heart
I'm glad you came to give Rhymin' Time a try
From Christian Forums I'll never depart
It's a great place and there are many reasons why
The people here are kind and fun to get to know
There's so much to do, and things to learn
People here are interesting, and they let it show
Thanks for sending me the private message
Oh no, now what am I going to do???!!!
I can't think of a thing to rhyme with message
Well, I'm stumped, so it's time to go.

The clock is saying way past ten
And it's that time of night again
When no sound breaks the quietness.
And, though bed's calling, I confess,
I want to write a little rhyme.
An excellent way to pass the time
Till I hear the tap at the door
And know my son is home once more. :)

“Hello, hello!” he said with a grin.
“Open the door, I want back in.”
The vacation bug bit me, he wanted to play
I fell under his spell and was carried away
I needed a breather, this much is true
So I went on hiatus to learn the kazoo
The restfulness ended, I grudgingly returned
To the place where my family budget is earned
And oh how the work had piled in piles
And backed itself up for miles and miles
I have time without end to file these files
And meet with the people while I smile my smiles

Basically, I gotta lotta work to do
For now my rhyming time is through

All of you I will miss
but I have to go house looking
but atleast I'm not doing a lot of cooking...lol.

(By an onlooker at the time of Jesus' crucifixion)

Have you heard of this man Jesus?
They say he's the anointed One
Don't know if I believe it
Doesn't look like God's son

I thought he'd come in power
Lead a mighty army of men
Sweep away the hated Romans
Bring freedom once again

Wait a minute, here he comes,
Now do you see what I mean?
No chariot, just a donkey,
How can they call him King?

The priests don't look too happy
Surely they don't believe
That this carpenter from Nazareth
Is the fulfillment of prophecy?

(Later...)
The strangest thing happened today
Got caught up in a crowd
They were laughing, jeering, mocking
And in their midst, heads bowed,
Backs bent under the weight of the cross,
Three men, going to die,
And I saw that one was Jesus,
Silent, suffering, he passed me by.

Then as they raised him up
Blood dripping from pierced hands
His eyes met mine for an instant
And now..........I understand

BrotherChristian, you are so right
The poem joyshirley wrote was great
I'd have to say it was out of sight
What words of wisdom she did state

Jesus died for you and me
Such mercy is hard to conceive
With Him one day we will be
If only we believe

Of course, we have to ask Him into our heart
This is the only thing He demands
Once He is with us, He never will never depart
We should try to follow all His commands

He doesn't expect perfection, but one day we will be
When we see Him face to face, we'll thank Him for dying on the tree

I haven't really had the time
To come up with a decent rhyme
But seeing all the gnarled old trees
Putting out their fresh new leaves
And dressing up in blossoms pink
Made me stop, take time to think
And notice once again how good
God is to us, and that we should
Take the time to 'stand and stare'
And see His beauty everywhere.

(We're heading into Spring, here in NZ) :)

Rhymin' Time had moved to page five
Looks like it's just barely alive
I guess I'm the one to blame
It's been a while since I came
My mind has been on other things
But much joy this thread brings
So, I'm back, I can't let it die
I promise to return by and by
Such words of wisdom and joy
Have been here for us to enjoy
Some of you have great talent, it's true
Thank you for sharing words that are true

Hi lozzie, welcome back
I guess for rhymers, there is a lack
This thread has moved to pages four and five
It's becoming harder to keep it alive
Sometimes, I guess I'm at a loss
For clever thoughts, I'm not the boss
Thanks to you who contribute to this thread
I need to stay up and rhyme, when I'd rather go to bed.

Come on all you rhymers
Young and old timers
You don't have to be great
or even very good
rhyme now, don't wait
You know you really should
rhymes can cheer you up
when you're feeling sad
overflowing will be your cup
and soon you will be glad
So come one, come all
what have you got to lose?
You just might have a ball
talk about anything you choose.

I'm as sad as I can be
It seems no one wants to rhyme with me
Oh well, this thread's been around for a while
Maybe rhyming is no longer in style
I never pay much attention to what the styles are
I like what I like and that's a better rule, by far
Does anyone agree with what I'm saying?
Bye for now and thanks for playing.
