I've been gone for a little while
but I wasn't in denial
I was just busy with things
but I'm back I'm back *everybody sings*

Oh, Grammalamma, one thing I forgot
To ask you if this is OK or not
I like to find rhymes that aren't perfect in spelling
But sound like they rhyme while speaking or yelling

Sometimes they only sound rhymie to me
Because of my cadence and accent, you see
Like this I can make lots of rhymes which are rhymie
But to others they may sound kind of funny

I guess you could say that half rhymes are alright
better than making you stay up all night
trying to think of the ultimate rhyme
as it may take up too much of your time.
Accents do indeed change it all, then
for example again rhymes with both rain or hen!

My youngest niece has curls
but she's the only one of the girls
My nephew has flame red hair
It's got a spot that is rare
a little white patch on the right side
but not on the left side

To be close to your nieces and nephew is really great
Kids are wonderful company when you'd otherwise be alone
But the best thing about nieces and nephews, you can send them home

I hope that I don't sound like an ogre
Ya know what else, I don't like yogurt
It seems that I have abandonned the A-B-A-B plan
But just for a while, I'll return when I can
