Hey man I like you and respect your choices.

And if any Christian gets mad that I have one, I can tell them a fellow Christian suggested her for me, lol.
not sure if that will help you
hahah well I am a Catholic
so a good number of people on this site would argue that I am not a "Real Christian"

"Apart from the cross there is no other ladder by which we may get to heaven."
a quote about accepting the hardships in this life

"Without the burden of afflictions it is impossible to reach the height of grace. The gift of grace increases as the struggle increases."

people would say she was very pretty
and this made her feel good about herself
so to prevent her growing vanity and to get people to stop complimenting her, she rubbed hot peppers all over her face, irritating the skin in big red blotches and blisters from the harsh acids in the chili peppers

I don't like that part, lol..

Hopefully her face went back to normal.

Are there still people like this in the world?

I knew of a Muslim guy who would chain himself to a tree for like 20 years. I'm like what..

Most American Christians can't even handle praying for more than 20 seconds, lol.

in the Philippines, the week before Easter, some people will have themselves Crucified, they have doctors there to help them as soon as the ceremony is over

it is repelling and compelling at the same time

some people in Opus Dei will still use sterner types of "mortification" like wearing little spikey chain around the leg for hours at a time, this is called a Cilice

some of them also use a small whip on their back called a discipline

That's true.

But like, where are these people on this site? Do they like post here, lol? I'd find them interesting to talk too.

Repulsive maybe, but spiritually beautiful too.

The sheer amount of dedication is just incredible though.

yeah, repulsive and beautiful at the same time

like, if all I knew about Christianity was from people I know in real life and from CF, I probably would not be a Christian
like, there are people who give up everything to be a Christian
like ISIS just executed 21 Coptic Christians
people who give up everything for our Lord

well it all depends on how you look at it, you can say I was saved from sin 2,000 years ago when my Lord took up my sins on the Cross. I was Baptized into the Body of Christ when I was about 6 months old. since then I have had my ups and downs, growing closer to Christ and then backsliding :(

Christ completed His saving work on the cross about 2,000 years ago, that paid for my sins I was baptized into the Body of Christ, anointed priest, prophet and king in Him when I was 6 months old I am being saved by His grace daily

oops,I forgot I had already asked that question.

lol that is ok, i forgot i answered it before

part of it is, in Catholicism, salvation is seen as a process instead of an instance

baptism is seen as the moment you are "born again"
