Well, he almost certainly will instruct his people in Congress to obstruct almost every legislative act possible, so that they won't reach his desk for signature (or a veto). He doesn't want to be put in that position, you know.

True. But remember, the Democrats changed the rules to now only require a simple majority rather than 60 votes.

In 2008 when Obama was elected everyone was saying how it was the end of the Republican party. But 6 years of lies, coverups, deception and 24/7 whining has people seeing our racist-in-chief for who he really is.

Best case scenario would be for Republicans to take over Congress. If Obama was smart he would do as Bill Clinton did and cooperate with the Republicans and enjoy a prosperous final 2 years. But I think his arrogance will not allow him to submit to anything beyond his own self-delusion.

It won't happen. How do I know? Past experience. 2 years ago, Obummer got a "shellacking" when the Republicans took over the House. He said in response to it that he'd be willing to work with Republicans. Did that happen? Nope! In fact, he's only doubled down. Barack Obama vows to work with GOP after 'shellacking' - Carol E. Lee and Glenn Thrush - POLITICO.com

My prediction is that he will only double down again, using executive power. He already tested that and has found it to work pretty well.

You mean the Democrats might filibuster a Republican bill?

Not only that, but they probably will stage walk-outs, boycotts, shouting matches, and engage in other such tactics...because that is exactly what they did the last time they felt outvoted in Congress.

Without a majority, they can't obstruct anything. The only reason the Senate has been so absent from the legislative process is because Reid won't bring a House bill to a Senate vote. The Republicans have not been in a position to bottle up anything, but Reid has done a fine job of that all by himself.

The democrats in my home state did that when we got a Republican assemby, senate and governor. The democrats actually left the state and camped out in a motel in a neighboring state so votes couldn't take place. Reminded me of a bunch of spoiled brats who didn't want to play ball anymore when they realized they couldn't win.

Unless they take the position of "working with the president" and "compromising" like they did after they won the house in the last election. They won the House and then took the role of the losers.

Maybe Harry will rent buses and take the Democrats to Toronto. Hopefully, ICE won't let 'em back across the border.

Sure they can, although perhaps not 100%...and several ways of going about it have been mentioned already

Yes, it should be very interesting to see how Majority Leader McConnell handles that one.

Very true. And I wouldn't put it past them. Republicans are the best at finding ways to lose.

And maybe Canada will even grant them amnesty, along with food stamps, driver's licenses, and voting rights. That's what we would do! ;)

Yes, regarding the simple majority. Did the Dems think that changing the rules like that wouldn't come back to bite them when the rules were no longer in their favor?

Ah. And so we are back on topic.

Will they learn their lesson if given a reprieve by the voters THIS TIME?

In other words ... the party of NO.

Hopefully, we'll get the opportunity to experience this new problem.

We can only hope.

The victory will be that poor little Obama will not be able to get his way quite so easily. It must be breaking his heart that people aren't buying his lies anymore.^_^

They might experience it in Washington, but the rest of the country won't hear about it if the media doesn't want the Dems to look bad. After all, once the election is over, the campaigning for president for the next election will begin. That's exactly what happened after the last mid-term election. The mid-term election ending was the start of campaign season for the next presidential election for 2 years later (the one where Romney lost). Just watch! Starting tomorrow, the media will be focusing on who will be running for president. This is especially likely to be true if the Republicans take the Senate. They won't want the focus to be on the fact that the Dems lost the Senate this time after losing the House last time.

I just don't know. It would seem that way, but I think it's just as likely that he doesn't care what the people think. He's living the high life himself on the taxpayer's dime...he and his family. And then he'll be making the big bucks on the lecture circuit when he's out of office. He's set for life, really.

Democrats are the party of NO already?

You know, history has to happen before you can revise it.
