Replicating the Holy Anointing Oil in Exodus

This passage is specifically talking about the Levitical priesthood. While they are no longer functioning as there is no tabernacle/Temple, They do still exist and they (for the most part) know who they are. I know a couple of them and have met several more, including one young man who is in line potentially to be High Priest. (along with his brothers)

Hebrews 8.13 said the Mosaic covenant was "obsolete" and "ready to disappear." But has it actually disappeared? We have no information on that. My guess (and that is all it is) is that it disappeared when the temple was destroyed in 70 ad, a decade after Hebrews was written. But we have no scriptural confirmation on that.

So IF it is still in effect, then making an exact replica may be problematic. I would not do it.

After going through all the comments again, I now realise the warning were directed to Moses.

Now, what about these verse regarding not to make/mix together anything like it:

31 And you shall say to the people of Israel, ‘This shall be my holy anointing oil throughout your generations. 32 It shall not be poured on the body of an ordinary person, and you shall make no other like it in composition. It is holy, and it shall be holy to you.

It does seem like the Lord said not to remake this type of oil.

There is no more holiness in the oil any more than there is a holiness to the mount on which the law was given. You will remember that the people couldn't even come near it. Also that Moses face shown so brightly after coming down that he had to put a veil over his face.

If you think that you ought not make the oil then don't. Whatsoever is not of faith is sin. Rom. 14:23

You must have not read or completely ignored my last sentence. I stated live your life in Christ and not the OT law. If you live your life in Christ then rape and adultery and idolatry are things you have no desire to participate in. You do not need OT laws to tell you that. You also know things that are inconsequential to our salvation and Christian life. Like making Levitical holy oil.

In what way did the Old Testament people see this as a foreshadowing? And how would one know this was a foreshadowing by just reading through the bible? Is this a tradition or is there support?

but the HOLY SPIRIT is given only by GOD as HE chooses

And the HOLY SPIRIT is only given through faith in the GOSPEL OF THE Son of GOD who came forth from THE FATHER

There are no earthly high priests.

At present that is true.

That seat is not vacant. It has been filled and that position will not be going to anyone else.

"That seat" is in the Levitical Aaronic priesthood order. So who exactly is filling the LEVITICAL high priest office? (NOT the Melchizedek order high priest)

Did you not see that I stated that something like that is inconsequential in our Christian life? In other words it is not important or significant and serves no purpose.

What kind of oil? You are just assuming it is the same oil as talked about in the OP.

I am assuming nothing. Most congregations I know use plain olive oil, which I think is fine.

But this is the usual use for those who want to replicate the OT anointing oil. That and to ordain pastors. deacons, elders, etc.
