Read Jeremiah 30 - 33 and ask yourself if it has already come to pass...

Read also Joel 3...

Jeremiah was a prophet in the time of the Babylonian captivity, right? Israel was under Roman oppression last right? Maybe more accurately would be Gentile oppression seeing how Rome fell 2000 years ago.

I noticed it says captivity of Judah and Israel. Shows my lack of knowledge on the subject.

Verse 14-15 sounds like its referring to the Lord.

Jer 33:14 Behold, the days come, saith the LORD, that I will perform that good thing which I have promised unto the house of Israel and to the house of Judah.
Jer 33:15 In those days, and at that time, will I cause the Branch of righteousness to grow up unto David; and he shall execute judgment and righteousness in the land.

Messiah WILL return to execute Judgment and Righteousness in the Land.

Like He did when He sent the Roman army against apostate Jerusalem and it's people in AD70 ;)

Luke 21:21 "Then let those who are in Judea flee to the mountains, let those who are in the midst of her depart, and let not those who are in the country enter her.
22 "For these are the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled.
23 "But woe to those who are pregnant and to those who are nursing babies in those days!
For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people.

The Destruction of Jerusalem - George Peter Holford, 1805AD

The day on which Titus encompassed Jerusalem, was the feast of the Passover ;
and it is deserving of the very particular attention of the reader, that this was the anniversary of that memorable period in which the Jews crucified their Messiah!............

.....Meanwhile the horrors of famine grew still more melancholy and afflictive.
The Jews, for of food were at length compelled to eat their belts, their sandals, the skins of their shields, dried grass, and even the ordure of oxen. In the depth or this horrible extremity, a Jewess of noble family urged by the intolerable cravings of hunger, slew her infant child, and prepared it for a meal;

Nay...
not like that at all :)

He's literally coming back and returning to earth in the same way He ascended.

(we've been through this)

That is what the Scriptures apper to say.
However, I have had a hard time convincing the unbelieving orthodox Jews of that for some reason :)

Is Jesus returning to earth?

Is Jesus returning to earth?

Perhaps things work out differently to what Jesus had imagined. The earth will be destroyed by fire, like in says in 2 Peter. (How can there be a millennial earth if the earth is destroyed by fire?) Probably the writer of 2 Peter hadn’t seen the book of Revelation, or they had already rejected it.

Perhaps there are some experts here, who know all about the prophesies pertaining to the Jews and Israel, to happen in the future? I don’t know. I am still studying. Perhaps these things have their fulfilment in Christ.
I don’t think it is very likely that there will ever be Ezekiel’s Temple. I don’t know what all that is about; all those chapters describing a future Temple, with a new priesthood of Zadok. If there is some sort of future new earth, then perhaps that will happen then.

Yes, the Jews have been through a lot, Hitler also comes to mind. What do you think the 1948 birth of Israel means? Is it fulfilled prophecy?

What happens when the time of the gentiles is fulfilled?

Luk 21:24 And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Lysimachus I am still not convinced. I deal with way to many SDA people and others that have. You may have posted an official statement. I simply do not find it a reality in the real world. Sorry.

bugkiller

That may be, but once again, it's not about what people do, or how they misrepresent their own faith, but it's about what the original foundations of their faith advocated.

I guess it is insisted these people got their understanding outside of the SDA organization. Wow!!! this really needs to be stopped. Somebody needs to teach these people what their church believes.

bugkiller

Doesn't matter what SDA's say "today", or "advocate today". What matters are their official, original teachings. If you want to know what historic Adventism teaches, Ellen White's writings and our Adventist Pioneers will tell you--That there will be a literal remnant of Jews ready to meet Jesus.

But the notion that this literal remnant of Jews will be recognized in God's eyes as a "separate entity" from the body of Christ (the Church) in the last days is unBiblical. God will not save Israel as a geopolitical, national entity that is distinct and separate from the Church. Rather, many Jews, as individuals, will be saved by accepting Jesus Christ--and the moment they accept Jesus Christ, they are immediately recognized as "part of the Church" (no, the Church does not REPLACE them--it INCLUDES them).

They are all grafted into the same tree, Jesus Christ.

I will not partake of the sheer foolishness that decapitates the 70th week from Daniel 9's first 69 weeks, and then project it into the future as a ludicrous, allotted "7 year tribulation", and say that somehow the Church will get raptured in the snap of a finger at the beginning of these 7 years, and then God will now focus and save Jews at a separate entity from the Church at two different imaginary time periods. (yes, SDA's do believe in a future final tribulation, but no "allotted known time period" is attributed to it--only that it will be short, but at apocalyptic cataclysmic proportions).

No. Every Jew has an opportunity to repent and be saved, and accept Jesus Christ, during the SAME time that mercy is open to the rest of the world. When probation is closed for the Church, it's also closed for the Jews. When probation closes for the Jews, it's also closed for the Church. In Ifs, Ands, or Buts about it.

When the Lord comes back, He will "appear the second time without sin unto salvation." (Heb. 9:28)

Not two times for salvation. But ONE time. For all.

This IS SDA theology.

Replacement Theology?

Think again.
