Yeah i have a bit of a cough, its not deep in the chest yet, but I suspect its on its way. My ear is what's killing me! I'm hopin' it doesn't keep me from church tomorrow. I hate when I miss, it makes me feel off all week.

I'm going to pray for you, Suzy.

Pastor RD was my pastor for many months as he helped me come out of the cult I was in. It was a long hard process but RD was there to counsel me and show me how to read and understand the scriptures. So I know how you are feeling. Isn't it wonderful to have a wise, kind-hearted Daddy when you need one? Of course, we know that the great Rep Daddy in the sky has blessed our Rep Daddy with love and understanding.

wow. I didn't know that. I was in a cult in my senior year of high school. It took a while to get my head and thoughts straight after that experience. Every once in a while I will look on the internet to see if any of those I knew left, or if they are still being decieved.

I lived my whole life in it and didn't get out till I was almost 50. That made it really hard to leave, not just because it was extremely hard to see things from a different POV, but because it was all I knew. All my friends were there, my family was there, etc. I have been out close to 3 years now and I still feel lost in many ways.

This must have been so hard.

But Dawn, you are not lost, not if you have the Lord Jesus Christ in your life. You are not alone, and you are not lost.

Edie, thank you SO MUCH. We'll try this.

I loved the lovely blooms on the wisteria, but it was trashing our fence. And like your MIL, we don't like to use pesticides, either.

Thank you for that great advice!

Oh, another thing - drive the nail into the cut end of the stump, not the side. Don't know why that would make a difference, but I remember her telling me that.

Rosey, if you don't mind my asking, what helped you get out of it?

They were moving everyone to New York. I was afraid if I went I would never be able to get back home. So I called the girl who had originally gotten me into it, she had left and started attending a Baptist Church. She showed up along with a group of people from her church, one person still rescues people from cults (David Clark) and they physically helped me leave.

Then my parents wouldn't let me attend the Baptist Church and I drifted into the occult.

Friends never gave up praying for me. One of my friends invited me to The Passion Play, and my eyes were opened to the truth. I couldn't stop crying. I accepted Jesus as my Saviour a few days later.

Thank you Edie! I am relaying all this information to my dear husband as you write it. He and I both know we have a fight ahead of us this summer. Wow, we really appreciate your advice.

I've always known, Rosey, that you are a special person. It sounds like you have special friends, too.

I'm just praising God for you, that He brought you out of so much deception. He is so good!

I was in the group I was with for 1 1/2 years. It was the Forever Family, now called Church of Bible Understanding led by Stewart Trail. Some people I know are still there. One couple that I know who left attends a local church that I visited. When he saw me he asked me to not mention the group to anyone there. His church doesn't know what he went through. He was a house leader. I was the house secretary.

It is one of the reasons I hang out on this discussion board so much. It keeps me centered in the Lord to have good Christian friends and be exposed to good Christian teaching. I have learned so much here. I have actually acquired quite a bit of theological understanding, however, I am still very naive regarding how things happen outside of the church I went to. I am very often left scratching my head trying to understand what is expected of me and how things work at the church I am now attending.
