Henaynei, thank you for the instructions. :)

I'm quoting you below, for the benefit of other members.

ok - go to your Control Panel - you will find a quick link in the far upper LEFT hand corner of every CF page listed as User CP.
Once there look at the list on the LEFT: under Settings & Options select "Edit Options."
Once there scroll down to "Messaging & Notification" box.
The second item on the list in that block is "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and there is wa drop down box with options.
Your's is currently probably on "Do Not Subscribe". I have chosen "No Email Notification".

What that does is that every time you go to User CP in the future you will see every thread in which you have posted that has had activity (posting) since your last visit. When you no longer want to keep track of a particular thread you can choose "unsubscribe" option under that specific thread on your User CP page.

That is pretty much the basics - feel free to PM me if I left something out ;)

You can now search for your posts........

At the top of the CF home page is a search window that allows you to search either the web or JUST CF ----- try it!!!
Are these searches only visable to CF users? Because using this I found that my profile and guestbook are on there and these things are not viewable by anyone but members, in otherwords I elected to not make this public. Now I am wondering about this.

Why double-post in 2 threads? I answered this question in the other one.

If it were only MY posts that I was wanting to search for, then the "subscribe to thread" thing would be fine, but I like to be able to find other's posts as well. The google search doesn't give post in any type of order. Otherwise that would be fine as well. I'm definitely missing this feature, and I hope you can figure out a way to get it running again.

And I am finding it to be very deficient in finding posts . ..

I put in a search term that should have brought up at least a few pages, and I recieved 2 returns . . . not 2 pages . . 2 entries!

Erwin, I used it to, in part, search my past posts for something specific . . now, I have no way to retrieve that information if I want to use it again. I feel crippled.

I understand your reasoning, but it does put a significant cramp in my style. :)

I am hoping you will be able to come up with some solution. . . . though I have no idea what that would be. . .

Peace in him!

Not for finding my own posts - but for getting to 'know' other posters...
I know merry. I asked this question a few posts before yours, but have received no answ./reply yet. Maybe there's just no way to obtain even a short list of others' previous posts?

I will try to see if there is a better method to do this. Please be patient while I figure out something.

We know you are Erwin! Please forgive me if I sounded like I was blaming you! I didn't mean to! I sure wouldn't want your "job", but we're praying God's grace will sustain and help you through this difficult season, and know that He will!

Please forgive me, I posted here first and then later found the other thread  I was trying to make things easier, not harder, it was an honest mistake.

I am sorry for all you are going through right now. May G-d pour out his Shalom on you and your house and bring you much needed peace and calm.

Also, being able to see no posts by a member makes it almost impossible to find trolls. I know that I'll probably never be back on staff here again, but I think we need to set some feature where it shows one last post, like reps. . .that way a troll could be spotted and documented much easier. :)
