The OP has nothing to do with "militant feminists" from 40 years ago.
I posted the entire source, as the laws are varied depending on the state and the situation.. but, if one were to read the entire source, you would see that there is no mention whatsoever of a special case scenario in which it is permissible to consult with a patient's spouse regarding his or her medical care without consent.. regardless of what religious beliefs the patient subscribes to.
How about you providing some factual information supporting your claim that this actually happens, and is a legally supported practice?
