Religion doesn't make sense to me anymore

although i struggle to see gods good nature i do know this. the holy crusades n genocides or other horrible acts commited. may have had the churches label on it . but that does not mean they were true men of god.. humans have a heard mentality. . . when one person of an evil heart and charisma"s words warp the peoples minds into believing their actions are justified by their means. . one must always be on guard for silver tounges. so that is not the faith but rather the organized religious grp that would be to blame. its nit god one should be mad at its your fellow man..... as for the section about women. Remember to focus more on the bibles moralistic side, because in then
end the bible was written a mans hand and as horriblemas it is to think this gives possibility to tampering with (gods) true words and meaning... and true love like god is beyond comprehension. if one loves another god will recognize that and accept it . . . my best advice for you is dont take every verse in the bible literal wordnfor word. look for the main idea... like okAy so god created eve for adam right . its not sayingnwomen for mensnpleasuren. but more for someone to share life in general withna friend without benefits can be ones companion. for example im not gay but my companion is my best friend jacob. but could have been some girl im not sleeping with just the same

If there is a God I'd expect him to be a lot like he's portrayed in the Bible. I laugh at other religious people who think one is spiritual dumb because if your view of God is likened to a monster.

I am happy that you are starting to question things, but if you're seeking who God really is, don't expect to find someone who is morally sufficient.

As for me, I couldn't find any valid reason why I should have belief in a God. He's attributes and character traits *good or bad* didn't really play a role in my de-conversion from the faith.

I am a 22 year old girl, brought up in a christian community and have always followed the 'church rules'. But the more I learn about all the atrocities that have been commited by 'men of God' throughout history the more I am beginning to question everything christianity stands for.

I still believe in God and our saviour Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit, but i cannot reconcile the Holy trinity with religion. Religion is not holy it is man made! The bible frustrates me! Its full of contradictions and so sexist! And most christians I know are judgemental and arrogant and do not have the slightest bit of compassion or tollerance.

And it is simply impossible to be happy if i am constantly feeling anguish and guilt for every sin i commit. I am pro-choice. I don't believe in marriage. I dont believe being gay is wrong. I DONT believe in women being submissive to men. And i will NOT repent for these beliefs! Does that make me a sinner condemned to hell for all eternity??? Please help me find answers.

Your problem is you have preconditioning that Jesus is God.

Try reading the Bible without this preconditioning, read it as if Jesus was a Man APPOINTED by God (The Father) who did wonders and miracles with the help of God. See if it makes sense.

The Bible has been edited, translated and retranslated, had parts added and removed, thousands of times by people over the centuries. Of course there is still wisdom in it, but taking every passage absolutely literally is not a good idea.

Actually the truth is hard to accept sometimes, we can deny the truth, but genuine wisdom tells us not to. I would like to sugar coat it for you, and say life is easy and full of perfection. However it is NOT, life is a struggle, those struggles are against the powers and principalities of this world and that struggle includes all of us, the children of GOD the heavenly father.
We are not to seek our own grace that is already given to us, we must learn to accept that grace given from GOD the heavenly father through his son lord JESUS CHRIST then gradually things will become clearer. It takes time and a communion with GOD and his son lord JESUS CHRIST to gain insight and clarity, this communion we must wash ourselves metaphorically speaking so we can come closer and obtain the relationship and clarity, and to envision and see the bigger and brighter picture.
Remember you will know them by their LOVE(christians)or as i've said before by their(Hate)wolves-fangs, if they do not have this genuine Love in them then how can they see clearly , it is with time that LOVE will grow. remember LOVE is the greatest of the commandments and if you follow it trully there will be no loss. True genuine christian LOVE is essential and just as our parent's LOVE us and want the best for us they discipline us and give us guidelines and rules for the safety of our welfare and as you become a community member also provide safety for others. What you do in your life can effect others and that also is a bigger picture that must be taken into account.
Religion is the foundation for faith and belief in a loving, and according to scriptures a jealous GOD and his son lord JESUS CHRIST whom acts on our behalf, he is the intercessor.
Many of us don't like being told what to do...how to dress, how to eat, what to eat, what and who to love. Clearly we must acknowledge that as children we don't always know what's best for us and that is why GOD gave us the word as we were told, and to share in it's principle.
I mean if christian religion tells us the greatest commandment is LOVE, "how can that be irrelevant, wrong or questionable?"
