  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Religion cannot work with science.

God is all truth and "science" is the pursuit of truth.

Instead of lifting a creation, "science", as a god, why not rather lift truth as God?

Is science the pursuit of discovering the truth? Let us go boldly to the truth for the solution.

If God is science in your view, why would you reject part of science?

I see it more like science describes the normal operation of the universe (orchestrated by God), whereas miracles are temporary suspensions/alterations of those principles, and thus outside the realm of (and irrelevant to) science.

Sounds good to me. Though science should not ignore it when such is claimed.

I have no problem with the Virgin Birth, the Parting of the Red (?) Sea or some of the gospel accounts of the Resurrection.

The Virgin Birth in particular is CLEARLY marked as not being what happens, it is an anomaly and Joseph knew exactly how babies were made. In short it claims to be a Miracle right up front and in big print.

For me there is much more of an issue where I see no up front claim of a Miracle coupled with a gross difference between the claim and the way we know things usually work.

Well that and claims that would seem to be expected to leave some evidence or record we could find. On that the Parting of the Red(?) Sea is problematic, one would expect it to be recorded somewhere in Egyptian records. The Flood of Noah should have left tons of evidence if it was on a Global scale. (Which brings the idea that perhaps the popular interpretation of Scripture is dead wrong on some points).

Science and Faith seem to me to be most in conflict when we have people pushing both outside their sphere.

Note: I put the ? after Red because there is some question regarding translation. It is quite possible a better translation is Sea of Reeds which changes both location and the general image.

What about science? You stated he owned science and then you want to reject part of what he owns.

All rejoice at the discovery of truth. So therefore, science is a drive, to discover truth. In other words, what already is.

Considering "science" to be above truth is simplistic and fallacious.

But you stated "God owns science", so wouldn't what science produces by God's work?

That is, unless you want to retract your statement that God owns science.

Here is my equation.

True science seeks truth.

Truth is God. John 14:6

God is truth.

Therefore if "science" seeks truth, then the only solution is admitting God is truth.

Therefore my soultion is, God is truth.

God owns science. God is truth.

"God is all good"

Matthew 21:12

Then Jesus went into the temple and threw out all those who were selling and buying there. He pushed over the tables used for currency exchange and the chairs of those who sold doves.

Nice.Violence over golden words. He could explain them with love, not instantly use violence.

Matthew 10:34-35

"Do not think that I have come to bring peace on earth; I have not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I have come to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man's foes will be those of his own household."

Wow God is so good, Amen! -.-'' DEAR GOODNESS, LOOK at THAT VIOLENCE!

Evidence from the Scriptures. Nuff said.

Truth is already all brother.

Truth allows all to choose their own ways. Otherwise it would not have a title, it would just be.

Answer the question:

Why would a God who owns science allow part of science to be untrue?

Those that pursue what? Truth is God right, so if God owns science according to you, so wouldn't all involved with science be truth?

Sorry, but humans tend to be rather subjective creatures with various subjective beliefs. That's the problem with free will. ;)
