But being waved in by Capitol police and taking a selfie is hardly a capital offense

Those people are not getting jail time, much less an execution.

I see what they mean by confirmation bias. Vengeance? Who was hell bent on impeachment?

I see law enforcement is the new enemy...

Who has people still locked up for trespassing while people who burned down cities in "mostly peaceful " protests go unpunished?

That would be the police -- as I said, your newest enemy.

And because people think parents should have a say in what is taught to pre-school children that is book burning and censorship?

Book banning, actually -- burning is more Christian, less secular. Thankfully it hasn't come to that yet.

And all to "solve" a problem that didn't exist, just to distract you from a plan to raise your taxes and phase out your Social Security... or were you not aware?

I think I'm done here

That is obvious.

I'm not sure what impeachment has to do with anything in this 44+ page thread.

If you have a problem with the charging decisions in the 2020 protests talk to the local DAs. Almost *none* of them had any federal nexus. (No cities were "burned down" either.)

There is definitely book banning going on, not sure where you got book burning from.

Note to self: don't argue with these people and

I am talking about the local DAs but I'm done with politics

Nobody is raising money for their bond like was done for the "protesters "

That is untrue. Generally speaking, these people are being held because they present a danger, a flight risk, or they are refusing to work within the legal system. But the money is there.

Give Send Riot: Jan. 6 Defendants Have Raised More than $3.5 Million Through Christian Crowdfunding Website

Maybe you should take this to the Jan 6 thread where it would be on topic. There you would have learned that one of the bones of contention among those still in custody is about the distribution of these funds.

Some have been held unable to make bond and defended by a public defender.

There is not "making bond" at issue. Either they have been released with various conditions (travel restrictions, ankle monitors, etc.) or ordered held pre-trial. No one is in jail because the can't afford a bond. (I don't know of any requirements to post bonds.)

As for the public defenders, much of the best lawyering on the behalf of the Jan6 defendants has been done by the federal public defenders. The majority of the privately represented defendants who are either digging deep in their personal finances or relying on donated defense funds would be better off with public defenders. (One of those private attorneys in the OathKeepers case has just been disbarred. His client is now looking for new representation.)

[Edit: This would be better discussed in:

There are a lot of people who were never held accountable.

...because you have to get caught first.
There were plenty of people at BLM protests who crossed the line and committed criminal acts... but they weren't dumb enough to boast about it on social media after or even during the incidents.

It's always easier to hold stupid criminals accountable.

And as you say I'm not shedding any tears for people who attacked police and destroyed property at the Capitol.

...I certainly hope you don't plan to run for office on the Republican ticket anytime soon.

But being waved in by Capitol police and taking a selfie is hardly a capital offense

Agreed -- it's a Capitol offense.

But seriously, let's not make martyrs out of morons. The trespassers will get a slap on the wrist, the vandals will get misdemeanor sentences, and the violent ones will get locked up. Any objections?

... I thought not. That just leaves the ringleaders...

Please do show that it was in any way necessary.
God took care of the necessities.

He does say why He did it though, and that might be why you need to know why it was necessary.

That's what academia does to the mind.

Confuses things.
