Yes, more than a little odd isn't it?Ain't it funny that they never quote "Truly, Truly I SAY unto you..."???
Yes, Scripture is God-breathed. I agree. That doesn't mean nothing else is God breathed. The way you're talking, we should not trust Paul and the Traditions he imparted to Timothy and the rest of the Christian Church. Remember, there were no Gospels, yet, when Paul wrote, so he spoke from handed-down traditions which he heard from the apostles, and from Jesus Himself. Spoken Traditions. This has been discussed at the point of the thread the quote is from. You had no answer for it so please quit regurgitating the conversation to make it seem like you have something when you don't.
But Paul presented it to others. How do we know he's reliable?Gal 1:11 But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.
Gal 1:12 For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.
Heres a couple
Huh?Oh because someone from your church stapled it together???
Exactly what I wanted to write under your post, instead, I skipped it, and added what Paul wrote.Huh?
Yeah, those wacky Catholics in Thessalonica did that. As do we to this day. We know Paul was reliable. We know Timothy, his successor was reliable, as was Titus. So are the successors of Peter, and those appointed bishops by him and the other apostles. Their ordination imposed the Holy Spirit on them and when they were in concert with the Bishop of Rome, together, they were perfect in matters of faith and morals. Which is, I'm sure, just what you were trying to say. But that's where our Sacred Tradition, which you throw out like so much bath water, comes from. It's from the Holy Spirit. Who cannot, and does not lie.Exactly what I wanted to write under your post, instead, I skipped it, and added what Paul wrote.
How did they know he was reliable? Those in Thessalonica were commended for searching the scriptures daily, to see whether those things were so.
Merry Christmas to you, as well!Theres a handful of you I dont really care to converse with so go sing it to someone who cares, I dont

I did present it. You rejected it, even though you admitted you don't know what SS is.No, it works the other way around. The one making the claim ought to produce the evidence for it. Your evidently teach and believe SS so where's the scripture that teaches it?
Paul references none of RC Traditions. You've provided nothing.Done that many times, especially referencing St. Paul, who says to use Scripture and the Traditions I have passed on to you...to Timothy.
This passage is significant because it says words from the mouth of God and not words written in holy scripture.
Okay, you didn't want to present any holy scripture that teaches SS. I can live with that, I don't think any such holy scripture exists anyway. Perhaps a new topic will suit you better?I did present it. You rejected it, even though you admitted you don't know what SS is.
Here's an example, not of words spoken by God himself, but rather words expressing the teaching of Christ our Lord that are not found in any passage in your bible: May you be blessed, Lord, God of our ancestors, be praised and extolled for ever. Blessed be your glorious and holy name, praised and extolled for ever. May you be blessed in the Temple of your sacred glory, exalted and glorified above all for ever: blessed on the throne of your kingdom, exalted above all, glorified for ever: blessed are you who fathom the abyss, enthroned on the winged creatures, praised and exalted above all for ever: blessed in the expanse of the heavens, exalted and glorified for ever.Feel free to tell us specific words from the mouth of God you have.
