Kelvin reached the camp and saw it was totally obliterated. He looked for survivors and saw none and no bodies were laying around. "They moved the dead bodies? They must be paranoid they weren't really dead" he thought. He found many useful things and saw the jet scheduled to fly back to red top was still useable. He went inside and saw it was plucked clean of every asset but he noticed the gage said he still had fuel. He fired it up and headed back to Redtop. Without Rumunin here I will have to land and walk into Redtop. He flew for awhile and watched out for any planes noticing him.

Kim ate the food the woman had brought her. She stood up and blacked out again.
She woked up. Now she wasn't in the same room but she saw three heads looking at her wearing doctor's masks.
She heard the woman's voice "Doctor' she is conscious. Well then knock her out again you have the ability not me."
Black out.
We should probably wake up again. We've been out for a few days. Do you hear me?
Is that me talking to myself?
Well not talking, thinking to yourself.
Our mind is extraordinary. Hopefully you have been recharged to remember the memories i have brought back to us. We have questions though for someone named Kelvin. Unfortunately i was not able to recall who exactly he was. But i was able to recall a memory of another planet called "Earth".
I am thinking with multiply personalities
No, we are one, you just need to open your eyes.
"Kiiim....." she heard in the distance.
"Kiimmmmmmmmmmmm."
She opened her eyes. It was the woman again.
"Someone in another room identified you. Your name is Kim Jays. Do you remember now?"
she tried to speak but couldnt. She was moving her mouth but the only thing that came out was air.
She heard from the man standing in the room.
"Good, the operation is successful." The man left.
Kim again tried to talk but couldnt and nodded her head to communicate witht he woman.
"You don't need to speak, because, well, you can't. Soon no one here will be able to. But don't worry Kim. I am Mori. You shall not fear."
Kim showed body movements that signified writing. She wrote on the paper Mori handed her.
"Were you the one who blacked me out?"
The woman replied. "Don't be silly. You lack strength that is why you blacked out." The nurse walked away and Kim was alone.
i cant talk, they did something to me so that i can't communicate with people. How will i survive this?
Kim stood up successfully this time and looked through the only window she had. She looked down the rooms and there were other people she recognized from the resistance in the rooms. She saw Mori and the doctor take the girl in the next room and wheel her out on the same table Kim was on. They must be taking her voice out too. How awful are these people? Kim curled up in her bed and went to sleep to deal with her new pain.

Kaylee found the site completely destroyed. She was about to leave when the voice returned.

Walk to the other side of the camp and fly. There you will find Kelvin. He can help you.

Kaylee obeyed and flew into the air. At first she saw nothing, but then... there was something in the distance.

"Kelvin!!" she yelled. "What happened to the others."

Kelvin noticed someone flying in the air and asking to get in. She recognized her from the camp. She was one of the young members of the group that was going back to Redtop. He opened the plane and she came in.
"Kaylee isn't it? I don't know what happened to the others. I was on my way out when the ear-" he stopped himself. "when the ground tremor happened." Kelvin noticing her hunger offered, "You look extremely tired and hungry, have something to eat. The food closet is just down the aisle." He pointed down the aisle through the empty seats that were to transport 40 rebels back to Redtop.

Kim awoke with new eyes. Everything she could see seemed, brighter. She was in the same room but it was more colorful than she imagined before. Now she had a roommate. She remember she couldnt talk. But she looked at her and mouthed "can you talk?" She shook her head no. Kim figured they were rooming together the people with the finished operation. The girl then showed what she could do. The girl concentrated hard and fabricated water into the empty glass on Kim's side table. Kim smiled. She then levitated the glass and brought it toward her and levitated herself as well. The girl also smiled and they both nodded in an agreed sense of friendship. Though they would never know each other's names because they couldnt talk. The nurse came in and removed the food trays and Kim sneakily took the pad of paper and the pen from her apron. The nurse didnt notice. Kim wrote on the paper, "I am Kim. I dont know why they dont want use communicating, but they clearly can't stop us." She tossed the paper to the other side. The girl nodded and wrote: "I am Amanda, we shuold figure out a way to talk using our hands, like a hand alphabet or something." She tossed it back.
"Good idea." She wrote.

Kaylee nodded and walked to the back of the plane. She opened the closet to get some food, then walked back and sat down. She looked out the window, wondering what could have happened to the others. Suddenly, she saw movement.

"Kelvin!! There's someone down there!! Oh my gosh, NO!!! It can't be!! Kelvin, Land the plane I'll meet you down there!!"

She ran to the door and jumped out in freefall, desperate to get to the ground. Once she was a few yards from the ground, she stopped her descent and landed gracefully, and ran to the young man standing at the edge of the woods.

"Jaden!! How did you escape?!?! Wow!! It's really you!!"

Jaden nodded.
I hope you didn't have too much trouble getting here.

"O my gosh... you were the voice!! But how, why??"

"All will be explained soon, Kaylee. All will be explained soon..."

Kelvin knew the boy was down there, but he was in a hurry himself he thought he would be fine. But since the lady requested he turned downt he plane and landed. The boy then boarded the plane and the three of them flew to Redtop.

The two women went to their beds as the nurse walked near. The nurse assured Amanda, "There is an empty room now for you, dear. You will be going there. Make sure you get your rest Kim, for there will be a meeting for you two and others in 15 minutes, we do not want you blackout again." Kim was wondering what the meeting would be about. She wondered if Amanda and her were the only two mutes, but she didnt think so. The time passed and she was escorted down the a commons room she had not seen before. There were hundreds of people there. She didn't recognize anyone right away but tehre were too many for her to really notice. She saw Amanda and smiled and sat next to her. The strange thing about the room is that it was dead silent. Everyone had grim looks on their faces. The range of ages went from early childhood till nearly dead. Everyone looked alone int he world. She was glad she had met Amanda. The nurse stood at a microphone in the front and began speaking.
"Quiet please everyone." Kim looked around and saw confused faces on everyone. The woman continued, "I am sorry to inform you that the president of this ward will not be speaking to you today as planned. However, I will inform you of the guidelines. All of you have been successfully healed of your wounds. Since you are all in good health you are now free to roam the compound. You are not however allowed to leave since you dont have legal residence in Bluecup. If anyone tries to escape, i assure you that you will be killed in the outside borders..." The woman continued on and on until Kim finally fell asleep. She then woke up startled and the room was being cleared, also silently. Kim recalled the rules the woman told them, I can't escape i remember that much, but what else? Kim walked back to her room and found Amanda waiting for her with pen and paper. She had already written on it a long note. She skimmed it and noticed they werent allowed to have the pen and paper. In fact they were basically prohibited to having any item that promoted communication with each other. on the back of the paper she suggested the hand alphabet they use for communication. She smiled and practiced with Amanda. It was quite easy and a lot better than writing everything. The both of them spent the rest of the day perfecting the new hand language they invented. They used shorthand and even made universal motions for simple things like, water and food and so forth. They thought they were the only ones actually happy in the dreadful ward they now resided in. The curfew time had struck and Amanda went away to her room quickly. Kim sat and thought to herself.
I wonder why they dont want use to communicate with eachother. It i obvious that no one can talk except the workers. Atleast I have free food and shelter.
The next morning Kim ventured around the place and found many common rooms much like the one they assembled in. She foun da smaller one with a television on it, Gosh i havent seen one of those in ages. She notices the news on it and sat and watched. The headline story was the pact between Blackpin, Redtop, and Bluecup. The dictator Malvo was now the emperor of these three countries! Kim was sure that he used his ability to surcome to this power. The news showed the Whitekey and Greenfloor would have nothing to do with such a pact. Just as Kim watched this the flashbacks of the memory right after she woke up think to herself of the man named Kelvin. Kelvin, Kelvin it is so familar. The voice came back. I did more research from our memory. His full name is Breean Kelvin. If I find anything else I'll summon you to this part of our mind. Kim was again confused from the voice inside of her head. She however did have the revelation of Breean Kelvin. Breean Kelvin was the man from Earth! Suddenly Kim had new joy and ran to Amanda to start planning an escape. She had to find the man before it was too late. Kim was still unsure how she met the man or why she knew so much about him. She found Amanda and they traded their hand conversation.

Jaden sat in the plane. Something about him seemed different, though. He was a changed man.


"Jaden... back there... the explosion... what happened?? I thought you were dead!!"

"I wish I had. I turned untouchable just as the building blew up. Kaylee, all those people... gone... they wre torn apart. I- it's not--- uhh...."

Jaden buried his hands in his palms and cried.

After their conversation, Kim sat in her room and thought to herself.
I know the name Breean Kelvin and I know he isnt from this planet. But why do I know him? Why does his memory haunt my thoughts? It is almost as if I had a friendship with him for a long time. But why? How did we meet? There seems to be a blank time in my memory. The last thing i remember besides my time here was teaching in Redtop. I taught chemistry. Before that I worked for the government. I had high status with the government. I remember like it was yesterday.
"Welcome to the Central Intelligance Unit, Sir Malvo. I am the head of the Unit and we are at your service." Kim said.
"Thank you, Dr. Jays. Now what I want is to completely rethink the idea of this Unit. Instead of making new weapons, you will destroy the ones you have already made. I want no one in this country to have a weapon besides my personal guards. I don't care how you do it, you will do it."
"But Sir, that is not what we do in this Unit. We discover new ways of increasing the impact for war cases only. We don't want to be defenseless if someone were to attack!"
"Did I ask for a rebuttle Jays?"
"No sir."
"Then do as I say. You thought it was a good idea to destroy all of the weapons." Malvo nodded in a strange manner, but still looked into Kim's eyes.
"It is a fantastic idea Sir Malvo, wish I thought of it myself."
"That is what everyone tells me." Malvo then exited the central office.
Kim walked back to the office and found a letter on her desk.
It read,
"You don't know who I am, but don't listen to Malvo. His reasoning is against the entire purpose of this Unit. Resign before it is too late. There is a wonderful teaching job for you at a local high school. Take it and we shall meet later."
Kim reviewed the last events and the next day she sent in her resignation. That was the best job i ever had. But that dictator was against the entire purpose of the CIU. That is why I left, but that letter. Who was it from? Could it have been from that Kelvin guy? I did take that teaching job. But that guy, it seems so familiar. From that time of my life. I need to do some research.

Kim woke up from her day dream and found she had time to find a computer. She went out of the common rooms and none of them had computers. She retreated back to her room. Of course they dont want us to have computers, we could communicate then. I need to disguise myself and get on the nurse's computer. Or I could levitate it to my room and have someone keep watch! She looked, one power outlet. That's all I need. If only i had someone to turn it invisible that would be great! I wonder if anyone here has that ability. It would take forever to find that one person though. I just have to distract them. I must make more friends besides Amanda.
Kim then looked outside her bedroom and saw the desk empty. Is this my chance?!

Kaylee placed an arm around his shoulder.

"Jaden... you've seen horrible things, I understand. You just have to, I don't know..."

"You don't understand!!! It was me!!! I tipped them off!!! I told them about the group!! Okay!! I caused those deaths!!!"

Kelvin overheard Jaden yell the comment and turned around. What? he turned us in! After all the government did to him as a child, he went back to them. Why? Kelvin put the plane on auto pilot and went to the cabin.

"What did you say Jaden? If I think i heard correctly you turned us in! I have the right to throw you out of the plane and kill you! That is what you two were going to be punished anyway after you were snooping around that night. I have spared your life twice boy!" Kelvin stomped back into the cockpit because he heard the radar beeping. There was another plane in range of the radar. No! I can't hide from then without Ruminin! Ah, what to do. What to do?!

Kim waited for about a minute. No one is returning! I'm going to try it!
Kim levitated herself over the counter and went onto the computer and went to the government database. Within the minute she cracked the password and was in the database
Breean Kelvin.
Tons of hits. He was the Secretary of State before Malvo took over. He resigned on the exact day of his inauguration. Coincidence?
"Hey what you are you doing! You aren't suppose to be in there!"
Just then Kim levitated off the floor too high for the person to reach her and went back to her room and she knocked the unconscious with the broom in the corner.
i'll have to lay low the next few days.
Kim then positition the woman with her power to make it look like she bumped her head on the counter. A few minutes later another nurse found her and wrote the claim as an accident.
Whew, let's hope she doesnt remember anything. Just as she turned around she saw a man standing in her room.

Jaden kept his face buried, but continued his story.

"Apparently, the government had been tracking me ever since the first time I rebelled against the goverment. When I was invited to go with the rebellion forces, the government approached me. I tried to fight, then tried to run... but they caught me. They jailed an torchered(sp??)me!!! Finally, I begged for death, but they wouldn't do it. They made me a deal. If I were to give them information on the gethered group... I would be given my siblings. They let me see them... then sent me away. That first attack on Kim in the woods was suppoosed to be the end of the group, but you all foiled that. So they decided to follow the plane and track us. But no one was supposed to get hurt!!!!!!!!"

Jaden began crying again.

"After the attack, I met with them in the woods. They said they did not get what they were looking for.


YOU!!!"

he pointed to Kelvin.

"They demanded that I find you again and either kill you or bring you to them. They wanted Kaylee too, though they gave no explanation for that. After all the death they caused at the training center, I refused. They murdered my brother!! Right there!!! In front of me. And now my sisters are to be wives to the dictator. They will pay for what they did!! I'll lead you to KIM."

Kelvin angrily responded.
"I know where Kim is at you fool! I put her there! I knocked her on her head and made sure she forgot all about me! And Jaden I'm sorry you think you were the one. You were only a ploy. The government assigned me to gather the rebels and destroy them. I brought them to the most deserted place on planet so no one would know the government killed people. it is this huge scandal you see. You only helped me turn all these people in. They told you they wouldn't be hurt. I made them hurt the people. After all, didnt you know that Malvo is my brother?
No. You didn't? And you call yourselves rebels. Next time do background checks before you sign up for a rebel service. Now the survivors are at a hospital ward in Bluecup. Not what I planned but they are of the harsh type. And the only other two survivors are you two. But not for long. The shield is now turned on so that you can't use your abilities. The shield affects anything within ground reach. Good Luck escaping"
He said that as he jumped out of the plane with the only parachute on the plane. The second he jumped out the plane blew up.

It had taken a week for Thorn to heal enough that the doctors would let him walk freely around the compound. For some reason the people he saw could not talk and acted extremly melecholy. After getting the lay of the area Thorn began to search the rooms and areas that the "patients" are not usally aloud in. He would contort his body to squeeze into small cranies when he hear someone coming near. It was this way that he found out that Kim was indeed one of the other people in the compound, it was this way that he also found out that every few months they shiped some of the "healed" ones off to a station up in the mountians where they are made "normal" citicines and given residencial status in all of the major cities in Blackpin. From the lists he found that Kim had been "healed", just what this meant he still had no idea, but all the ones on the healed list were ones that couldn't talk. So he got the number and location of Kim's room, he had to talk with her some how. The next shipment of patients was in two weeks and she was on that list. So he snached a pad of paper and a pencil and quickly and quietly made his way across the compound. Unfortunately their were gaurds posted at all the entrances and exits, all except the fire excape that is. So he went from shadow to shadow til he got to the first ladder. He would have to get up silently and very quickly if he wanted to remain unseen for there was no cover what so ever on the way up. Fortunately Kim was only a few floors up. He quickly went up to the third floor and using a knife he had stolen from the kichen he picked the lock and made it in. Kims door was open when he got there but there was no one around so he let himself in and waited. After a short wait Kim came flying through the door and didn't notice Thorn for a few seconds. "Kim, it's good to see you I was afraid that you might have been one of the unluky ones at the camp site. I have been here for a little over a week and I have been able to find some stuff out and I need your help to figure this out and get us all out of here." Thorn paused for a moment, then seeing the frustration in here eyes, remembers the pad and quickly pulls it out, "I know you can't talk so I brought this." He hands her the pad and pencil, "I have been looking through the computer system and have found some disturbing news." He then proceedes to tell her all about the treatment and what they do with the "healed" people after they have been seccessfully culled.

Kim looked at the man. Kim wasn't sure if she knew the man or not. He seems to know about me, maybe I'll play along. Maybe he can help me! After all he can still talk and he has the pen and paper. He seems observant. I'll test him."
Before he continued with his story she wrote on the paper.
"Who are you? and more importantly, do you know the name Breean Kelvin? If you do, please explain who he is. I know some specific detail about him but nothing else. The nurse told me I was knocked unconscious and had a bump that caused partial amnesia. Tell me who you are."

Kaylee cried out in horror. She was trapped with traitors!!!! Suddenly, Kelvin leapt from the plane, and seconds later it blew up...


"Kaylee wake up!!! Please!!! I need you!!!"

Kaylee felt someone smacking her face. She opened her eyes and saw Jaden's face.

"Kaylee, you've got to fly!!! NOW!!! Come on girl!! Fly!!"

She looked down and noticed that they were only a hundred yards from the ground, the distance quickly shrinking. Jaden was screaming, and she was confused. But she remembered how to fly. Only feet from the ground, they stopped. Once they reached the ground, they saw a parachute spread over the trees, the harness empty. Malv's brother was on the loose. And he wanted them dead.No.... he thought they were dead. She looked at Jaden.

"Are we dead?? The explosion!!!"

"No, no... we didn't died. I saved you, and then you saved me. Oh, Kay... can you ever forgive me!!! I- I..."

Kaylee put a finger to his mouth.

"Shhhh.... I can forgive you, but I will not forget. You betrayed us. You deserve a second chance... bu7t not without responsibility to your actions. But yes... I forgive you Jay..."

Ranuke had circled the enclosure where he had seen the woman darrged off and saw no way in. Ranuke sighed and walked back to the store he had so often spent much of his time pondering at.
Ranuke was beginning to feel hungry too. He didn't think that he could keep scavenging through garbage as a rat and eating scraps.
Ranuke looked back out at the building and at its high walls.
The idea struck him like a brick wall at high speeds. How could he have been so stupid? He could simply fly over the wall.
Ranuke nearly danced with joy at this new revelatoin and immediately walked into a nearby alley.
Looking about to make sure that no one was around, he began his change into a falcon.
When the change was complete he ruffled his feathers. He always loved shifting into birds. He could fly about all day on the thermals. Unfortunately, he had a specific mission he had to comeplete.
Beating his wings, Ranuke rose up into the air and began to circle, rising higher and higher.
