Pain in the you know where is what I think. I lost count of how many times we stitched kids up with sticking plaster because there were no boats & the dr had left the island! Luckily for really desperate things we could call the ambulance out - like the kid who walked in & casually announced he thought he'd been biten by a snake!!!! I look back & think,'wow! God really had his eye on those kids!'

Mic 6:10 Are there yet the treasures of wickedness in the house of the wicked, and the scant measure [that is] abominable?

Mic 6:14 Thou shalt eat, but not be satisfied; and thy casting down [shall be] in the midst of thee; and thou shalt take hold, but shalt not deliver; and [that] which thou deliverest will I give up to the sword.

Do you know Christian joy?
Joy is something that is unaffected by circumstances. It is a state of mind and an orientation of the heart. Joy is deep. It is a settled state of contentment, confidence and hope.
Does this joy dwell within you? It does inside of me. No matter what is going on in my life or in the world around me, I am able to cling to Christ and to the simple joys of being one of his children. He has given me this. And I am forever thankful. Praise the Lord for the love that he has for us. And may he bless us always with eyes to understand with.

A Christian speaker I heard once described joy as like the place that's so deep in the ocean no wave breaks there, no light reaches; it's just not affected by surface turbulance at all. I love that.

Can I hi-jack this thread for a sec, LR? I just wanted to share what my big girl, who graduates in a couple of months, chose for her prom outfit. She's going with one of her older brothers, which is sweet & he's so chuffed to be taking her, but her dress was going to be an issue. She never wears dresses & you can imagine what the formal dresses are like. We looked & looked at patterns & her partenal GM said she would draft her something & her maternal GM offered to sew it up. PGM has just been to Singapore & brought back this gorgeous red Chinese brocade which has been made into a Shaitung (sp?) for her over flimsy black pants. It is so her but really modest & everyone thinks it looks stunning on her. Her brother has been showing her off to all his mates. I am so pleased she got something she's happy with & it was a real family affair. Everyone's happy with the result. If we end up with any pics later on I'll see if I can learn how to post one. That should be interesting. My computer know-how is zilch!

The Red Room is like the family room. It's a room for all subjects. We are all free to relax and come in and be ourselves and post. I have only one condition on this room. NO FIGHTING. That includes any nasty or rude remarks of any kind. If you don't have anything nice to say keep your mouth shut. It's only the polite thing to do.
