Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. My daughters have their own website that has a lot of role playing.
Grandmas can be a bit rough, but they love us unconditionally too, but in a different way then moms.
I think your mom would be so happy that you confided and opened up to her. We moms worry a lot about our young ones. We trust them, it's the world that we worry about.
Your avatar is fine. Dungeons and Dragons is fine too.... like all things... in moderation.

I would like to know, who is slated as those able to 'minister' within that forum. Where can we see this info?
Offering a listening ear, and listening with out judgment and condemnation, validating feelings and acknowledging that a person has the right to feel, are some of the most powerful things that a spirit filled Christian can do
It was through doing that, people on this forum have helped me get into a place where I can consider darkening the doors of a church without being scared

Quite honestly the issue hasn't come up, but to clarify I am considered a "friend" of the board, and since it is fledgling not sure exactly where I "stand" per se, so a few people tongue in cheeked me as a "lay minister" there. BUT, the reality is that I have befriended members there, quite honestly and without external motives. Hence, a friend of the board.
I also have made myself publically known here as a friend of the forum, whatever its ultimate fate is, that is where I am at today. I do not wish to be "hidden" or anything else, but what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas as far as the rules there.
I honestly want to see this worked out - there is a lot of criticism here, without much solution. Cases have been made both ways - this is not easy.
I will answer your question, but I would like to see the pastoral team chime in - frankly I was not a player in the making of this forum, I was invited due to pre-existing relationships. I was not aware that there would be such resistance from that group and they are key players. This may not all matter, but if it does down the road then I will be happy to address it. If it freaks anyone out or if they think I am evasive then I will kick it around a little later when I have more time.

I salute you for stepping up though. It is frightening, and you may be untrained. But Love is not something you can train. But I understand their concerns as well. But good job unto you for still trying.I already have read what the demons say when speaking through her. That was MY choice. Granted, it could be considered disturbing. I did do just what you said - praying fervantly once - and she thanked me for it after things were a bit calmer. Please don't blame Moriah for any of this, as I would prefer to take the blame for my actions if they are seen as wrong.
Giving anyone who claims to be possessed by a demon control of the rules and membership of any forum is a bad idea. Let's consider three scenarios:
1. If she is in fact possessed, you're giving over control of a forum to a person possessed by a demon.
2. If she is not possessed and thinks she is, you're giving over control a forum to a person with intense psychological delusions who thinks she is possessed by an evil spirit and capable of anything.
3. If she is not possessed and knows she's not but says she is, you're giving over control of a forum to someone who is lying, probably to mess with us.
Apart from the specific individual given control, there are other issues here. I don't think it's wise for an Internet web site to be getting involved in dealing with the occult. Seriously, leave it to the professionals. These folks are in need of a priest or a doctor, not a bunch of amateur Internet religious commentators who post to message forums as a hobby.
It is hubris to assume we're qualified to deal with this sort of thing. If folks need help recovering from something like this, they should see a priest, a psychologist, a real-life supervised support group -- maybe all of the above. We're going to make things worse rather than better more often than not with this sort of concept.
Moreover, it's inevitably going to attract folks trying to draw people into the occult and so forth. I'm not always sure what I think about religion and Christianity, and heaven and hell, and so forth; but I can tell you this: If demons are out there and possessing people and this poster is what she claims, I would highly suspect Erwin was tricked into creating this forum for the demon's own ends. What do demons and Satan do in scripture? They lie and manipulate good people to bad ends. Something to consider.
It's best for the site as a whole just to stay away from this stuff. It's not a mission for an Internet site.

I think BelindaP will be helping with counseling in this new forum as well. That is a good thing.
Father Rick is an Old Catholic priest. I'm not sure of his age, but I know he's not terribly young.

I beg to differ on this, Belinda.Right now there are three recovering members. However, I know of a few more who would like access.
The forum doesn't violate the five principles. Yes, there are going to be posts that challenge God, but they will not go unanswered.
