  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

The Animal Collective- Feels
Yes! More people need to listen to Animal Collective.

If you like Feels, you should check out Sung Tongs. Sung Tongs is pretty accessible (like Did You See the Words and Grass on Feels). I think Sung Tongs is my favorite thing they have done; I can't think of anything that I really dislike about that album.

My order of favorites:

1. Sung Tongs
2. Feels
3. Spirit They've Gone, Spirit They've Vanished (released as Avey Tare & Panda Bear)
4. Young Prayer (Panda Bear solo)
5. Here Comes the Indian
6. Prospect Hummer EP
7. Campfire Songs
8. Danse Manatee

Not really a recent purchase, but I just got a package in the mail from Jacob containing lots of Modest Mouse stuff I don't have and other goodies. Thanks Jacob!

(P.S. I'm going to try and burn some mixes and albums for you in the next day or so)

We should have a CF Mix cd Exchange. That would be fun. As long as I don't get some sort of Carmen greatest hits mix. That would suck.

TNT -- Tortoise
On Avery Island -- Neutral Milk Hotel
I love TNT. The Tortoise album, the AC/DC song, and the explosive. It's all good.

I really need to give On Avery Island another chance. I bought it and stopped listening to it when it didn't strike me like In An Aeroplane Over The Sea.

I'm loving the salad fingers avatar.

Not cds, but still discs:

[buy 3 get one free at Strawberries]
Daily Show Indecision 2004 DVD
Sealab 2021 Season One
Sealab 2021 Season Two
Space Ghost Coast to Coast Season One

and my roommate got Aqua Teen Hunger Force Season One.

We have Adult Swim covered.

Meh...I've tried listening to Animal Collective and I haven't really ever been able to get into them...although at some point I do plan on giving Sung Tongs another chance and I've been thinking about giving Feels a listen.

Hmm...that would be...interesting...
I'm trying to think of what I would put on an ultimate mix CD.

It took me a while to get into Sung Tongs, but I really, really dig it now. I imagine I'll pick up Feels before long.

Bwahahaha...excellent. Don't feel hurried though...I have so much new music right now that my head is about to explode.

I agree. I missed out on the Decapolis one because I'm lazy. I've been making friends quite a few mixes, and I'm thinking about downloading my least favorite songs of all time and making a mix of that to give to people. ;)

I've had several songs from On Avery Island for over a year now, but just listened to the whole thing the other day. I really like it. I should have checked it out earlier.

Not enough people appreciate Space Ghost, so I'm glad I'm not alone in my adoration.

Since the beginning of the summer, I've purchased all three seasons of Strangers with Candy. I'm convinced that it's the greatest T.V. show of all time.

Sonic Youth- "Murray Street" and "A Thousand Leaves" (both used for like 6 bucks each - MS is grrrreat)
Songs: Ohia- "Ghost Tropic"
Laura Veirs- "Year of Meteors" (surprisingly good)

I should be lashed for not owning more Sonic Youth and Songs: Ohia than I do.

Oh yeah, I just received the dual disc rerelease of Good News by Modest Mouse. I already feel cheated since I can't get the cd side to play on my computer. I really hate Epic.

She is very good live. I think her songs on "Year of Meteors" are written better than from her cd "Carbon Glacier"... but I really like the chilly atmosphere that "Carbon Glacier" offers more than the warmer sounding "YoM"

Consider it done.

I've got a few test and papers coming up this week, but this weekend I should have a lot of free time, so I'll try get stuff burnt and sent out by then.

If there's anything else you can think of that you want before then, just let me know.

Would you prefer mp3 cds or just regular cds for playing in cd players? I could fit more on mp3 cds, but if you don't listen to music on your computer then it would be sort of pointless. Just wondering.
