Yes, We see that you Pray to God, but the above quote shows
That you also pray to others
See I can make text big also.
Yes but we don't have the same definition of the word "pray."
When we pray to others we are asking them to pray with and for us directly to God.
The same way that a person would ask their friends to pray with and for them directly to God.
Peace

Well then that will cause confustion.
To avoid confustion maby when you say you'r praying to someone, your should say your asking someone to pray for you

O Mother of Perpetual Help, grant that I may ever invoke thy most powerful name, which is the safeguard of the living and the salvation of the dying. O Purest Mary, O Sweetest Mary, let thy name henceforth be ever on my lips. Delay not, O Blessed Lady, to help me whenever I call on thee, for, in all my needs, in all my temptations I shall never cease to call on thee, ever repeating thy sacred name, Mary, Mary.
And another one:
1. "Hail Mary, full of grace!"
Immaculate Virgin, here I am at your feet once again,
full of devotion and gratitude.
I return to this historic Piazza di Spagna
on the solemn day of your feast
to pray for the beloved city of Rome,
for the Church, for the whole world.
In you, "humble and highest of creatures",
divine grace had the full victory over evil.
You are for us, pilgrims on the paths of the world,
the bright model of evangelical fidelity
and the ever-living pledge of sure hope.
"Highest of creatures" men are a little lower than the angels. Heb 2:7, although we have privileges they lack.
2. Virgin Mother, "Salvation of the Roman People!"
Watch over, I pray you, the beloved Diocese of Rome:
over pastors and faithful, parishes and religious communities.
Watch over families especially:
may love sealed by the Sacrament ever reign between spouses,
may children walk on the paths of goodness and true freedom,
may the elderly feel surrounded by attention and affection.
Inspire, Mary, in so many young hearts,
generous replies to the "call for the mission",
a subject on which the diocese has
been reflecting over the years.
Thanks to an intense pastoral program for vocations,
may Rome be enriched by new young forces,
dedicated with enthusiasm to proclaiming the Gospel
in the city and in the world.
3. Blessed Virgin, Queen of Apostles!
Assist those who through study
and prayer are preparing to labor
on the many frontiers of the new evangelization.
Today I entrust to you, in a special way,
the community of the Pontifical Urban College,
whose historic headquarters are located in front of this pillar.
May this wonderful institution founded 375 years ago
by Pope Urban VIII for the formation of missionaries,
be able to continue effectively its ecclesial service.
May those it gathers, seminarians and priests,
men and women religious and laity,
be ready to put their energies at the disposition
of Christ in service of the Gospel to the far corners of the globe.
4. "Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!"
"Watch over us" why? How? The only plausible explanation is that she should pray for us if we have trouble. It's better to ask God to watch over us.
"Inspire, Mary, in so many young hearts" she has the power to change hearts? That's the HS' role. I know Lu 2:35 can be interpreted that Mary sees many hearts. Yet, changing hearts is entirely different.
"Queen of Apostles" huh? Must be in the Catholic Bible, I've no knowledge here.
"Assist those" Must mean by praying for those otherwise I'm clueless.
"I entrust to you" why? what power does she have, other than to pray, the same as us?
"May" this is a request which I don't see how she has the power to grant.
"Pray for us" finally I see what the Catholics insist is really happening, yet the requests don't match up grammatically. Semantically, "pray for us" is in addition to the previous requests.
Pray, O Mother, for all of us.
Pray for humanity for those who suffers poverty and injustice,
violence and hatred, terror and war.
Help us to contemplate with the rosary
the mysteries of Him who "is our peace",
so that we will all feel involved
in a persevering dedication of service to peace.
Look with special attention
upon the land in which you gave birth to Jesus,
a land that you loved together with Him,
and that is still so sorely tried today.
Pray for us, Mother of hope!
"Give us days of peace, watch over our way.
Let us see your Son as we rejoice in heaven". Amen!
"Most powerful name" That would be God, not mary. "Salvation of the dying" again God alone.
You are getting confused, these clearly are references to God in the prayer your quote. Your belief that these refer to Mary is purely a product of confusion.
I don't "feel." Grammatically that prayer attributes to mary what only God has, whatever the intent.
If that's not the intent, then the prayer needs correction.
1 Cor 8:12-13. If what you do causes a brother to stumble, then don't do it. I know prayers like the above cause Catholics to stumble. I've met them.
Dyslexia here, I thought it said THE most powerful name rather than THY most powerful name.
You are a most eloquent person. Did I just call you the most eloquent person in the universe? (For those who speak English as a 2nd language, I most definitely did not.)
No doubt these things are as misunderstood by a few Catholics alomst to the same degree that they are misunderstood by you, but are you as keenly alert to the much more egregious stumblings of your Protestant brothers and sisters? I think this is more a case of the mote in their eye verses a lot of planks that you just skip right over in your own brethren.I know prayers like the above cause Catholics to stumble. I've met them.

Oh please, splitting hairs over the capitolization I added for emphasis... I apologize for not using the bold button instead, if it bothers you so much.I'm afraid it said neither THE nor THY. It said thy.
Does this mean that scripture affirms that no other name has any power what-so-ever? Show me the verse?Either way, scripture attributes power to no name other than God's.
