This video is interesting in that it encapsulates a lot of the same arguments from both sides that we see in this forum in discussing the difference between Christian and mormon doctrines of salvation.

IMO, the Christian uses the wrong approach. Rather than going to a gathering of Mormons to pull one or two aside, he should consider talking to a Mormon neighbor or co-worker.

The Mormon didn't need to get angry. He could have walked away and never engaged in conversation.

I don't like it when atheists know there's a Christian conference going on so they show up at the entrance to the property with stupid placards.

Those are my two cents. No offense intended.

No offense taken.

I think many Christians evangelize in many ways. I don't like the ways a lot of other Christians use but I am loathe to be critical of them because that may be what they are called to do - I wouldn't know. I wouldn't do "street evangelism" because I don't like it or think it's the most effective, but I will not criticize street evangelists because if that is what is working for them and God is blessing their ministries then that's good.

I like it when atheists or other non-/anti-Christians show up at our events - in fact I love it! It gives us an opportunity to talk to them about Christ because they are clearly interested enough to spend their time to be there! I think that since a lot of Christians think this way and react in that way that this is the reason we typically don't see atheists or mormons or JW's or others at our events.

I know that if someone shows up to church we are happy to invite them in and talk to them, even if they're looking for an argument, because it's an opportunity that the Lord has led us to!

I think these evangelists who go to the Mormon Festivals, like the one in the video, are doing a great thing. I am sure there are some who don't do it right or who don't represent Christ well (or at all) but the legitimate ones I think are doing a great service to God by presenting the truth to mormons and exposing the lies to those who may be open to accepting Christ.

If I started to tell you that you believe in lies and you leaders know they are lies but keep telling them because they would be out of a job or their pride of having believe in a lie makes it hard to leave how would you feel? If I went to a gathering of yours and had banners and a megaphone yelling repent and come to the right Jesus. Or as you were walking into the event walked along the side of you telling you that if you don't join my church your going to hell how would you feel? Would you think Jesus had called me to do this?

That's what you and the mormons already tell me. It's fine - I know you have different beliefs and I know that you're wrong and that what I believe is right, so I'm not threatened by it.

If you went to a gathering of ours and did that you'd have a ton of people talking to you. You'd have a lot of people willing and eager to talk to you. If you were telling me I'm going to hell I'd feel bad for you for not knowing the truth and not knowing the Gospel and I'd feel a need to share it with you. I wouldn't think Jesus had called you to protest against Christians since we are His Church.

What he really said was;
"“Repentance is a thing that cannot be trifled with every day. Daily transgression and daily repentance is not that which is pleasing in the sight of God.”

The idea that we can sin the same sin over and over again and repent over and over again is not true repentance. True repentance means we actually stop doing that sin.

Oh! Weird, but now I understand.
A lot of Christian shirts are written that way. The large text to get someone's attention, then smaller text to make the point. Although I don't necessarily buy these kinds of shirts. I like my shirts to be more what I want to say.

So there is a Christian Minster wearing a miss quote from a Prophet of God, Joseph Smith.

What does that say about the minster?

"Any communication with the intent to deceive is a lie" (Ashton) and all lies are of the Devil who is the father of lies.

Except most things are not lies that Mormons call lies. Your own JS lied about whether he was a polygamist. The lies started from the beginning so draw your conculsioin about who is of the devil.

Isaiah 66English Standard Version (ESV)

The Humble and Contrite in Spirit
66 Thus says the Lord:
“Heaven is my throne,
and the earth is my footstool;
what is the house that you would build for me,
and what is the place of my rest?
2 All these things my hand has made,
and so all these things came to be,
declares the Lord.
But this is the one to whom I will look:
he who is humble and contrite in spirit
and trembles at my word.

Isaiah 57:14-19English Standard Version (ESV)

Comfort for the Contrite
14 And it shall be said,
“Build up, build up, prepare the way,
remove every obstruction from my people's way.”
15 For thus says the One who is high and lifted up,
who inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
“I dwell in the high and holy place,
and also with him who is of a contrite and lowly spirit,
to revive the spirit of the lowly,
and to revive the heart of the contrite.
16 For I will not contend forever,
nor will I always be angry;
for the spirit would grow faint before me,
and the breath of life that I made.
17 Because of the iniquity of his unjust gain I was angry,
I struck him; I hid my face and was angry,
but he went on backsliding in the way of his own heart.
18 I have seen his ways, but I will heal him;
I will lead him and restore comfort to him and his mourners,
19 creating the fruit of the lips.
Peace, peace, to the far and to the near,” says the Lord,
“and I will heal him.
