  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

LOL! hahahahaha! Rap takes no talent? Alright, then if it that's easy, I want you to come out with a rap album and go platinum tomorrow. If it takes no talent, then anyone should be able to do it. Even you. I'll be checking tomorrow to see if you've done it, too.

Actually I probably could, If i use enough foul language and talk about smackin hoes people will buy it.

Ask any real musician, Rappers are not musicians and have zero talent.

And record sales does not equate talent. Not by a long shot. Milli Vanilli anyone?

ARGHH!!! You are so wrong and ignorant it makes me angry. You remind me of Bill O` Reilly, but worse. Not all rappers use foul language and "talk about smackin hoes" ok I could name a bunch of good rappers like Nas, Common, Canibus, Immortal Technique, BIG L, Talib Kweli, Tupac, Biggie Smalls, Will Smith, OH AND THERES CHRISTIAN RAP TOO! Not all rap is like the stuff u hear on the radio and I never said record sales equal talent they dont always do...im not even sure who milli vanilli is but i think he was really bad or something. But actually rap played a big part in rocks history too so thats gotta tell you something. STOP with the lame false generalizations and go out and do some research, rap is music it always has been and always will be no matter what you rock groupies think.

Argh, I am so tired of explaining this.

Oh, you think it takes no talent? Listen to a song like Alphabetical Slaughter by Papoose and tell me that takes no talent. Now go hop on your John Deere tractor and mow the lawn, redneck.

Um no, Rap did not have a large part in Rock History. Seeing as how rock and Roll has been around since the 50s and Rap has been around since the mid 80's.

And since you dont know who Milli Vanilli is, you shouldnt talk about music anymore.

The redneck is only familyer with rap that talks about how rich they are and how many girls they have bedded. Have you ever heard real rap before? Like wu tang clan?

Around since the 80s? Go check out the Last Poets and get back to me. They dropped in 1969, and are one of the greatest influences on contemporary socially conscious rap. Even they are only a continuation on the street and rhythmic poetry traditions that were prevalent in the urban black communities of their youth. I don't care whether you like rap or not, but stop spouting off without any real knowledge of the subject matter.

They influenced socially conscience rap, not rock. Rap is not poetry, there is a huge differance.

Where did you get that percentage? I find it hard a redneck knows alot about rap, MTV is a bad message telling people around my age that rap is all about that, talking about sex drugs and violence does not count as condoning it.

The image of rap has been ruined by "rappers" who are really not rich, but yet claim they are by singing pointless rap songs, and for some reasons, most of the sub urban kids like this kind of music.

btw happy birthday.

I agree with both statements. I dont listen to rap, mostly because of that, and its not my style.

And Thanks.

Reminds me of Nas' song, "hip hop is dead" I dont know if it is all dead, but if money becomes the main topic for "rappers" then R.I.P.

It is very different :
There is talking about stuff that happens like in the ghetto:
violence
sex
drugs
ect...

but then there is people who are out there who talk about it as if it where good (mostly sex and drugs, I have not heard much rap that actually says, "ok guys lets kill everyone".

Okay if rap is crap..like some people may think on this thread, can we worship God with Rap Music? If rap is crap, then why would we take something so pathetic to the father?

Rap is a beautiful piece of art - yes it has its dark sides but it's not as if other genres don't. Indy, Punk Rock, Death Metal contain very graphic connotations about death, the afterlife, demonic institutions and the like....but there are some awesome bands from those preceding genres - you've just got to separate the weeds from the wheat (Book O' Matthew).

Here's a good question for all the rap fans out there?

Kanye West - big main contemporary Hip Hop Star - claims to be a Christian and I believe him. Is Kanye a good role model for other up and coming Christians, especially the ones that love his music?

No, he isnt.
Can you justify that statement? Kanye has done alot of works for the church so why do you feel that the youth cannot look up to him? I just want to hear your opinion.
