So I made a thread asking for suggestions on where to place gospel tracts, and now I'm in the process of creating one. This will be the second tract I've made. The first I did years ago and it was specifically geared toward restaurants. But I found a picture on Google that I'm going to to get a graphic designer to edit.

Instead of a gasoline pic in the middle of the gauge I'm going to get him to put a cross and then direct the pointer to empty. And here is the text I was thinking about using.

I was going to pay someone to do that. Would you like compensation? If so, PM your email and I will paypal you.
LOL! No! I don't want a penny (or a cent)! I did it because I wanted to help with your gospel tract project. It didn't take long, and I learned how to rotate an object (the gauge needle), and I've never done that before. I hope you can do something useful with it. Let me know if you want it adjusting.

Edit: If you have any other images you need adjusting for your gospel tract, post them up, and tag me, and I'll try to do something. I'm not a graphic designer, but I can do easy stuff.

Dont get me wrong. I love God, but going to most houses of worship is boring to me these days. I feel like I'm meant for greater than sitting in a pew for about an hour while things are turned by the usual crank.
What would that look like for you? :)

A lot of things. I've rehearsed some in my mind already. But it's not something I want to discuss right now. And its definitely not something I would boast about. The goal for me is just knowing Jesus regardless of whatever I could get/lose in this world

Sold a really cool e-bike today off the marketplace. Met the feller at a nearby bank and any doubt that the man wasn't possessed by his stuttering and shaking was quickly put to rest when I curiously asked him what he had plans to do with his new e-bike.

"Worship it." He said

Now wait just a second. "I hope you enjoy the bike but the only One you should worship is God." I answered

After a few more incoherent words from him and helping him lug it in the back of his truck, I was off walking back home with 200 bucks in my pocket. 50 dollars more than what I had it listed for. :) :| :preach: :sigh:

One thing that's often times overlooked in the life of king David in the Bible is that even though he was said to be a man after God's own heart he wasn't perfect by any means of the imagination. Most people are familiar with his blunder of committing adultery with bathsheba and then having her husband murdered. But in deuteronomy 17:17 God said that the kings of Israel were not to have a lot of wives.

Well David had 8 that we know of by name. And in 2 samuel 5:13 we're told that he married even more. That's what I love about God and scripture. We get the good bad and ugly about everything. The Lord doesnt hold anything back about anyone.

Was listening to Christian radio (BBN) during my work commute the other day, and during a period of the broadcast they had a time of prayer where they aired peoples praises and requests. And one thing that took me aback was the number of people praying for health needs. There were so many people with sickness that the number was disturbing. I would say at least 90 percent of the prayer requests were from folks with bad health. It was sad.

Would I be out of line to suggest that this is indicative of the body of Christ in America? 1 Corinthians 11:30

I'm not saying that people don't fall ill with sickness occasionally. But when the overall and consistent lifestyle of a person is illness this speaks to his or her spiritual condition. This isn't a popular viewpoint but I'm afraid it's the truth.

Agree. To add, there are lies of the devil that go behind the whole health and food industry which I think are more common and woven deeper in America because of its healthcare system. I see that it's a dangerous trap although I don't understand the system as an American does. So it's hard to explain. But it's also been abused and/or misused. All of it has taken a toll on people's minds which has negatively impacted their physical being. That's what the devil is after- to mislead, lure and corrupt minds with lies so the whole body would fail ultimately. It's wasting people's time, disturbing their daily lives, weakening their minds, confusing and distracting them from seeing and hearing the truth and wisdom of the spirit. It is sad indeed. I understand there's some good part about the US healthcare set-up but to the most having it is as though Eve having/giving that apple so she/they could live (well and long, safe and secured).

LOL. When you are just being so imperfect and God takes you by surprise with His grace because He sees the hidden treasure deep within...

That is so powerful in transforming a person into the image you want in a spouse/friend (or any other relationship), for real.

It's a mystery not everyone can unlock. For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men. 1 Corinthians 1:25.

May God help us pursue and imitate His foolishness and weakness that we may be wiser and stronger than the men of this world.

This advice was reportedly published in 1958, so probably best to only use it if you want a husband with 1950s values and behaviours.

:tearsofjoy: :tearsofjoy: How about I be unlikable and see if he is wise and serious enough to find out the real me or loves me despite. lol.

JustSomeBloke,

This is hilarious. Number 31 and 47 were popular social media memes. But instead of stumbling you had to fall down and distribute the contents around you.

Number 47 was my favourite. And there might even be some logic to that approach. If a man helps you to pick up all your belongings, surely that's a good indication that you've found a chivalrous man. If he laughs, walks on by, or gets out his camera phone to record your misfortune then you've just dodged a bullet.

And amongst the many seemingly ridiculous suggestions there are some other ideas that might work quite well. I often see number 1 (get a dog and walk it) listed as a great way to meet potential friends and partners, for the simple reason that dog owners often stop and talk to each other while walking their pets, and the dog acts as an ice-breaker. Also, posing with a dog on Tinder and other dating sites now seems to be a common tactic. Some people reportedly even borrow a friend's dog to pose with, and some women have said that they dated a guy because his dog was cute and they didn't have a dog of their own. I've even heard it said that guys with dogs are attractive to girls because it shows them the guy has had to take responsibility for caring for something other than himself.

How about number 88? Surely that would be perfect for you.

Number 4 might work on me, but only if they were genuinely interested in walking up hills.

Is being unlikeable a version of 'playing hard to get'? Maybe some guys would see that as a challenge, but I usually just switch off and look for someone kinder and more agreeable. And I believe research shows that it can take a long time to undo the effects of a negative first impression. So if that was his first impression of you, then you may not get another chance, or you might have to put in a lot of effort to try and spark some interest. The exception is that a girl who is outwardly very beautiful can probably be as mean as she likes, and she will still get plenty of attention, but it might not be the kind of attention she wants if the guys are all chasing her only because of her outward beauty. But you shouldn't listen to my views on this topic, because I'm a hard-hearted, unkind, mean-spirited person myself.

JustSomeBloke,

M.C. Beaton mentioned something similar in her historical romances. I think I recall the same in Austen. If memory serves the lady feigns a stumble or twisted ankle which requires help. I don’t remember either dropping a pocketbook. Jane’s trip to Netherfield Park in poor weather (from Pride and Prejudice) would also apply.

I once lost a hat on a windy day and dashed into traffic to retrieve it. I was so focused on the hat I didn’t realize the cars were moving. Thankfully a gentleman rushed in and grabbed it for me. That was the homeless person I would eventually minister to in my neighborhood. The hat was our introduction.

How about number 88? Surely that would be perfect for you.

Perhaps if sewing was a hobby and wasn’t tied to a career. I’ve never had a man say much save one and that wasn’t related to creativity. We were sharing our callings and how the Lord brought us there.

I’m not very good at that sort of thing. Though I’ve encountered women who are. I prefer to engage authentically. While it may lessen my opportunities I’m being honest and that’s important.

I don’t want to manipulate or trick someone. I want to win his heart fair and square. I’m more likely to make his favorite dish or share his passions. Not to win points. But to show my appreciation and enjoy the process of learning him. That isn’t exciting I’m afraid. I like serving my partner.

Number 4 might work on me, but only if they were genuinely interested in walking up hills.

I’ve never been hiking but I’ve heard its fun. There are a few standouts on the list.
  • #3 I enjoy woodworking and home improvement.
  • #7 I love the game as a player and spectator.
  • #10 I like cycling but I doubt I’d bike through the continent.
  • #19 I used to follow college and the NFL. I don’t anymore but I understand the game.
  • #45 Laughter is nice.
  • #52 Is appealing to some.
  • #54 For certain.
  • #70 Agreeableness is underrated.
  • #71 Absolutely.
  • #73 Consideration matters.
  • #78, 79 and 81 When both desire and appreciate the other’s presence.
  • #89 I agree.
  • #94 Mutual sharing is fine within reason.
  • #102 Definitely.
  • #105 True.
  • #106 and 107 Is a nice touch.
  • #108 Save it for the marriage bed.
  • #112 Or go shooting with him.
I'm a hard-hearted, unkind, mean-spirited person myself.

You don’t come across that way at all. :)

Yours in His Service,

~Bella
