Wheeler you spake on "due season", in season and out of season. I was looking at the due season, it also appears to confirm "meat" given in the same accord (which has to do with understanding spiritually) ever notice that?
For instance, the Holy Ghost makes overseers, and God gives them (the gift bestowed of God upon them for "others"
Acts 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
God said He would give those who are Shepherds after His own heart to feed the flock with understanding and speaks to them of being diligent to know "the state of the flock"
Prov 27:23 Be thou diligent to know ~the state~ of thy flocks, and look well to thy herds.
Whereas Paul speaks in the same accord (in regards to "them")
Phil 2:19 But I trust in the Lord Jesus to send Timotheus shortly unto you, that I also may be of good comfort, when I know ~your state~.
Jesus asks in accord with this patern asks...
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, **Children**, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
Their state "as Children" = no meat (yet)
To whom does meat belong?
Heb 5:14 But **strong meat** belongeth to them that are of **full age**, even those who by ~reason of use~ have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.
Meat also is in "due season"...
Mat 24:45 Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them ~meat~ in ~due season~?
Paul as a faithful servant of Christ knows "their state" (and what they are capable of recieving)
1Cr 3:2 I have fed you with milk, and not with meat: for hitherto ye were not able to bear it, neither yet now are ye able.
Able to discern their ability
Heb 5:13 For every one that useth milk is unskilful in the word ~of righteousness~: for he is ~a babe~.
So he couldnt speak to them (yet carnal) the same as he could to others (who were spiritual)
1Cr 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto spiritual, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
I love this too...
Isaiah 28:9 Whom shall he teach knowledge? and whom shall he make to understand doctrine? them that are **weaned** from the milk, and ~drawn from~ the breasts.
Wow!
1Peter 2:2 As **newborn babes**, **desire** the sincere milk** of the word, **that** ye **may grow** thereby
Again...
John 21:5 Then Jesus saith unto them, Children, have ye any meat? They answered him, No.
Psalm 145:15 **The eyes** of all wait upon thee; and thou **givest** them their meat **in due season**.
Luke 24:30 And **it came to pass***, as he sat at meat with them, he took bread, and blessed it, and brake, and **gave** to them.
Luke 24:31 And **their eyes **were opened**, and they **knew him**; and ***he vanished out** of their sight.
Luke 24:32 And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he **opened to us** the scriptures?
Ephes 1:18 **The eyes of** your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints
Luke 24:45 Then opened he **their understanding**, that they might understand the scriptures,
Col 1:9 For this cause we also, since the day we heard it, do not cease to pray for you, and to desire that ye might be filled with the knowledge of his will in all wisdom and ***spiritual understanding***;
1Cr 13:11 When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
1Cr 3:1 And I, brethren, could not speak unto you as unto **spiritual**, but as unto carnal, even as unto babes in Christ.
Just as here...
Luke 24:16 But their eyes **were holden** that they should not **know him**.
When they receive the meat
Luke 24:31 And their eyes **were opened**, and they **knew him**; and ***he vanished out** of **their sight**.
The eyes of their heart were opened (spiritual eyes were holden) they only knew him after the flesh (fleshly wisdom) yet
2Cr 5:16 Wherefore ***henceforth** know we no man after the flesh: yea, though WE HAVE known Christ after the flesh, **YET NOW** henceforth know we him no more.
Henceforth is also used as it pertains to children as well, that henceforth we be no more children... Children, have ye any meat= No (unable to reccognize Him by the Spirit yet)... Milk, not meat, not able, meat in due season, thus it "comes to pass" and their eyes (which are shown "holden" (the eyes of the heart) that they should not "know Him", and he opens their understanding and gives them meat= spiritual understanding (meat belonging to them who are full age) Henceforth no more children (which understand as a child) with fleshly wisdom, what they are able to know naturally it appears.
Seems the same reason the world receiveth him not is because it seeth him not, whereas we (by this faith) are to look upon that which is unseen (seeing Him who is invisible) looking not at that which is seen...
Thus He sat at meat with them and He vanished from "their sight" (speaking in accord with walking by faith opposed to sight) and to the ability to perceive Him after the Spirit as we are to of others by the same (not after the flesh) with our carnal eyes.
His words are so amazing even as He is amazing
