Ah....Italian is my favorite!! Half day from me? Cool!! Where are ya?

South Jersey....about 1/2 hour from the DelMem bridge!

I cook things other than Italian usually. I'm no gourmet, but my husband, kids and stepkids love it! They think I'm awesome! LOL, good thing!

Made some chicken breast with olive oil, sundried tomatoes, feta cheese and kalamata olives not long ago....yum. I think it's time!

Gosh, and now I have to go to work!

Oh, those olives sound GOOD! I eat green and black and seasoned and the bitter italian ones and currently the kalamatas are my fave!

We had flatbread pizzas at pizzaria uno one night and loved them. Now we make them at home every few weeks. That, lol, is the kind of thing I do. If I find something we like at a restaurant, I start cooking it at home!

Yum!

All right, really going out there now.....

Mmmmm, what's your specialty???

I like to once in a while go across town to the Hushpuppy here so I can get catfish, and the
green tomato relish.
The only real southern food I learned to make when I was in school was cornbread.
What I really want to learn to make is fried okra.
I love that hot pickled okra, too.
Durnit. Now I am hungry in the middle of the night...!!

Well, I'm no chef, but I can make just about anything I feel like, if I put my mind to it!! (scary thought, huh? ) One of the exes told my kids I couldn't cook, could I have grown a 6' 220 pound soldierboy if I couldn't???

My specialty? My favorite comfort food is fried chicken, smashed taters with cream gravy, biscuits, corn on the cob, and iced tea!!! Oh, I can make fried okra, too!;)

My grandma came from Naples, Italy. She always said "If you can read, you can cook." I tell my kids that too. :D

So very true!! My problem here, though is my stove temp isn't right, I have to use a lower temp on most things in the oven! I burned quite a lot of cookies before I figgerd out why!! I really (really) hate electric stoves!!

I know, I have a gas stove with an electric ignighter. The oven runs too low, by about 10 - 15 degrees. The "turbo" burner that is supposed to burn hotter than any of the others, doesn't. :sigh: I manage to get dinner done, and burn stuff too ^_^

My mom tells my youngest daughter that too. My oldest daughter is a very good cook.

I do too!! I've always cooked on gas stoves until I moved to my present home 10 years ago. I've adapted over the years.
