  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.

I made a new quiz about....ME! The first person to get 100% and post here will get 15 blessings! The questions aren't difficult and there is NOTHING there that I have not stated at least once in Blessings Exchange. ;)

Aww that's too bad! I hope I didn't make the questions too hard. Most of them are based around my games. ;)

Yeah, I must have missed a few of the games... :sorry:

He just turned 18, at first they thouht it was autism...I told them no it wasnt autism ..then later they tested him and found out it was the form of autism called aspergers. I accepted that...If you met Kevin on the street you would not be able to tell..its when you get to know him you see his little differences ...He just graduated and i was so proud of him

That's wonderful that he just graduated! Terrific for him! Is he going on to university or college?

He's lucky he got the diagnosis. When I was little (about 4-5, maybe younger, I don't remember exactly) my parents knew that there was "something" there. They took me to many doctors. Every last one of them told my parents "that's just the way she is, deal with it." This was before 1994 of course. THAT is when Asperger's entered the diagnostic books. By then, we had given up on doctors. I know now what it is though, and it is a relief for me! I am glad that you were able to find out for your son too. I know it's not the same with everyone, but for me Asperger's is a blessing and I hope your son sees it that way as well (since it will always be a part of him).

he doesn't really talk about it much, yes he is going to college two years at a community colege and two years at a university.....I think he will do well. He is really smart as Im sure you are as well. I think it helps when you have loving parents and the day after he graduated MY SON (who never gave me hugs on his own) Gave me the biggest hug and said "I love you mom" Thats what the best gift in the world :)

That is very touching! Yeah, I can understand that he doesn't talk about it very much. For me, it's not that I mind talking about it, I just don't want people to be awkward around me. "Autism spectrum disorder", around here, just arouses strange feelings, like they think I am not normal or something. And, well, I'm not normal, but noone is normal. Everyone is a freak in their own little way. ;) But I am not "nuts" are anything like that I always fear that that is what people will think of. It seems that more and more people are hearing about it now and that is a very good thing. It's great that he is going to college and university!! What does he want to study? Does autism and asperger's run in your family?
