That's wonderful that he just graduated! Terrific for him! Is he going on to university or college?
He's lucky he got the diagnosis. When I was little (about 4-5, maybe younger, I don't remember exactly) my parents knew that there was "something" there. They took me to many doctors. Every last one of them told my parents "that's just the way she is, deal with it." This was before 1994 of course. THAT is when Asperger's entered the diagnostic books. By then, we had given up on doctors. I know now what it is though, and it is a relief for me! I am glad that you were able to find out for your son too. I know it's not the same with everyone, but for me Asperger's is a blessing and I hope your son sees it that way as well (since it will always be a part of him).
