You guys sure like to assume the worst of this sister.

I'm just not sure why.

I DID PM Free. ;)
lol.... you mean like you assume the worst of me?

It was not about assuming as much as it was my commenting on your reaction which I did not understand....

I don't mind Free posting comments. I've talked with him at length before and he's a VERY nice person.
Thanks for that.

I do have a problem with him saying we aren't uplifting Christ when Christ Himself told us to obey the commandments.
I was not commenting about anyone individually. I made an observation about the thread in general. There is no end in discussion, even among current SDA's, as to exactly how they should 'keep' the Sabbath. It always seems to arrive at a discussion of legalism. I believe that if you take an honest look, this thread is not about lifting up Christ. It is about what's 'legal' to 'do' on Sabbath and what is not.

He's ex-Adventist so he knows exactly how we feel about Sabbath, and he's made it abundantly clear that he doesn't agree already...to the point of ignoring any forum rules we have set up.
I'm a Christian, sold out to Christ alone, who used to be an SDA pastor. I made an observation that this discussion has moved away from lifting up Christ. I am assuming that those participating in this discussion as fellow Christians (body of Christ) would rather see the discussion be about him rather than continuing down a path of legalism. Maybe I'm wrong. I've been wrong before and have no problem admitting it.

I did nothing to cut on the Sabbath.

I just don't get it.
Sorry. Not trying to make a stink. Just hoping something positive can come of this.

In Christ alone,

Stormy, I probably did assume the worst about you when you used to post here, from statements you made-by your own admission-that were harsh and were geared toward getting your way.

However, you apologized, I apologized, and things were different between us when we both ended up leaving this forum (for different reasons).

I have apologized AGAIN since you've been back for my behavior back then. Apparently you don't accept and that's your perrogative.

I don't assume the worst about you now because your way of posting doesn't appear to be the same as it was then....so basically *I* accepted the apology and moved on.

I didn't know if you realized you were shaking hands with someone that doesn't believe Christians should keep the Sabbath commandment AT ALL. Now you do know, so it's your choice to agree with him or not.

I also don't see condoning comparing anyone a vulture.

I didn't take it personally, I KNOW Free wasn't talking about me because he and I are friends, but I thought the statement aimed at ANYBODY was way over the line.

In Christ alone,
thanks for dropping back in and clarifying a few things.... always a pleasure to discuss topics with people willing to do so.... as far as I am concerned there was no stink.... but that's just me....

All he said was that the vultures are watching. That's a figure of speech. He did not call anyone a vulture. Should we get upset when DJ says "who is the filty-rotten liar who said . . .?" (Maybe if he says it too often).

I think the comment reflects poorly on you BUT I really would like to give you a chance to explain.
Why should he explain something that only you are trying to make an issue of? I did not see him in a negative light because of the comment.

Thanks for the answer Free.

I still would like to know who you were referring to as a vultures? People that report posts? Or moderators? Who?

I think the comment reflects poorly on you BUT I really would like to give you a chance to explain.
I sent you a PM on this.

However, I would like to publically apologize to anyone who took offense at my comment. NO INDIVIDUAL was in mind when it was made and NO personal offense was intended. I know full-well that I am now considered to be an outsider and that any observation I might make is scrutinized to a higher degree than if I had just shut up and stayed SDA, but I assure you the word 'vultures' was a figure of speach and not directed at any individual and certainly not at the moderators.

God bless, and may Chirst alone be lifted up, for he alone is worthy!

how about this one....

John 5:15-18 The man left and told the leaders that Jesus was the one who had healed him. (16) They started making a lot of trouble for Jesus because he did things like this on the Sabbath. (17) But Jesus said, "My Father has never stopped working, and that is why I keep on working." (18) Now the leaders wanted to kill Jesus for two reasons. First, he had broken the law of the Sabbath. But even worse, he had said that God was his Father, which made him equal with God.

So if God works on the sabbath, and Jesus worked on the sabbath, and Jesus is the example as some here have suggested, then the moderators should work on the sabbath....

Spiritual work is not secular work, being a carpenter or moderator is secular work, saving souls and doing good or Gods purpose is spiritual work........Spiritual work =Love God and the other is like it, Love your fellowman...

The Greatest Commandment

34Hearing that Jesus had silenced the Sadducees, the Pharisees got together. 35One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question:
36"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" 37Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.'[b] 38This is the first and greatest commandment. 39And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.'[c] 40All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments." Matthew 22:34-40

  1. Mark 3:4
And he saith unto them, Is it lawful to do good on the sabbath days, or to do evil? to save life, or to kill? But they held their peace.
Mark 3:3-5 (in Context) Mark 3 (Whole Chapter)
  2. Luke 6:9
Then said Jesus unto them, I will ask you one thing; Is it lawful on the sabbath days to do good, or to do evil? to save life, or to destroy it?

The mods can still rest on the Sabbath, they can check things after the sun has set wherever they are. Think of this forum like the utility company and the Orthodox Jews, the gas, electricity, water and phone lines are there 24/7 if they want to use it during Sabbath hours but they choose not to. They do not ask them to switch off the mains or cut the phone lines. :o)
