Hello once again Tall,

I'll do my best to answer your last questions.

This is my follow-up post.

B. "On the EGW question, please explain the portion of the rules that is violated by the statement "EGW is a false prophet."
From what I have been lead to belive, it is considered an attack on someone that is held in high esteam by any given denomination and thus would bea flame. When I posted that the papacy was the only religious figure that met the specifications given for the beast symbol of Rev. 13, that was the reason given for deleting my original post by the mod that contacted me. It was not until I had reiterated the biblical, historical facts, and evidence that I was told that it was OK and I could post it. At this point I must say that with all the rule changes I'm not sure just how this is going to be treated in the future. I do know that it would not be allowed in our general SDA forum at this point and would at the least need to be in the debates.

"Please also explain how you would handle the following:

"EGW was not inspired of God" Flame? Other violation?
As in the above question the new rules will dictate what would be the correct way to handle such a statement. If I understand the present rules correctly, it would be considered a flame because it would be an attack against someone that is held in high esteam. In this case an early church pioneer that is considered by the denomination to be an inspired prophet.

Feel free to PM me if I may answer anyother questions that you may have.

Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
Doc

One thing I forgot, just informational, not debate.

The flying spaghetti monster was not a joke at all. It is a comment that has repeatedly been a source of friction on this site as it is a an atheistic parody of Christian beliefs.

There are times when a presenting report seems to be comical or non-sensical, but a quick internet search reveals otherwise.

A Short Rebuttal

Hi Tall,

Since you have chosen to state your reasons for you vote on my election in another form instead of in this one with questions and answers, I will post a short rebutal here also.

Your concern over wheather I would allow discussion/debate about E. G. White, and my feelings about such tell me that you haven't read my replies with the scrutiny of an attorney or a para- legal reading a deposition. And it was wrong of me to assume you would.

My follow up answers to your questons both inicated that such topics, and E.G.W. in particular, would in the future need to be in the debates, not the general SDA forum if the new rules allowed for for the topic to be discussed. From those repeated statements, any wittness having made those statements under oath in a deposition or in open court would be deemed not be unfavorable to such a debate.

In addition, the fact that I made refference to establishing the relativty of facts to my own statements on simular statements about the papacy (which by the way is an office not a person and therefore does not carry the same legal definition as a person.), would also be taken by a judge to mean that I would be obliged to allow the same show of evidentary practice by any opposition in future debtes.

Simply put the following should have been understood; A) Any future discussion or debate would first be subject to any existing rules of the forum.
B) If such topics are alowed by rule, then all such topics, including E. G. White will be allowed in whatever forum or sub forum that the rules allow.
C) All such statements must be backed up by evidence.
D) If there is no substantive corroboration of fact then the statement would be treated according to rule.

The combination of the four proceeding statements would certainly require an impartial view of the entire thread, all statements made, and he topic involved.

It is my hope that I have made my position clear. It is also my hope that this kind of detailed explination will not be needed in the future. To facilitate that, I will try to keep my answers to all future questions to the point yet in as simple, definitive, terms as possible with as little assumption on my part as possible.

Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
Doc

Hi Cliff2,

In response to your question in you previous post:
"Dear Doc
I do have one questions for you.

It is this.

What is your take on the "gospel"?

Thanking you in advance.

Cliff2"
I think the easiest way to give you my "take" on the "gospel" would be to share exactly what the Bible has to say on the subject.
". . . Jesus came into Galilee, preaching the Gospel of the kingdom of God. And saying, "The time is fulfilled, and the kingdom of God is at hand: repent ye, and belive the gospel." Mark 1:14, 15.

"And when he had called the people unto him with his disciples also, he said unto them,
Whosoever will come after me, let him deney himself, and take up his cross and follow me. For whosoever will save his life shall loose it; but whosoever shall loose his life for my sake and the gospel's, the same shall save it." Mark 8:34, 35
From these two passages we find that the gospel is what Jesus Himself preached and is about the kingdom of God. Jesus is also impressing both the crowd and the diciples with the importance of the gospel and that He, and the gospel, are more important than life itself, because even if we loose our life because of following Him or the gospel He will save us.
"And the gospel must first be published amoung all nations." Mark 13:10
This story of salvation must be given to all nations. As we read the rest of the chapter we find that it, the spreading of the gosple, is to take place before His second coming.
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth: to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. Romans 1:16
With the addition of these two verses we begin to get a picture of the gospel of Jesus Christ, the kingdom of God, and salvation.

Since I'm the worlds slowest on the keyboard, I won't type out the rest of the passages that I often use concerning the gospel, but will give you the following list of text so that you may read them for yourself.

Rom. 15:29; The blessing of the gospel.
2Cor. 4:3; If we hide the gospel.
Gal. 1:7-9; We are not to prevert the gospel.
Eph. 6:15; the preparation of the gospel of peace.
Col. 1:23; We are not to be moved from the gospel.
1 Tim. 1:11; The gospel is blessed of God.
2 Tim. 1:10 Immortality through the gospel.

And finally my favorite.
"And I saw another angel fly in thre midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation and kindred, and tongue, and people."

I should also say that there are some very interesting things about this angel and his message that are often overlooked by even SDAs. For now however we should probably save that for a Bible study when we can delve a little deeper into this extreamly intersting subject.

I hope that I have answered your question. If not please feel free to reask or PM me.

Respectfully, your brother in Christ,
Doc

Hi Lainie & Daryl,

Thank you both for the welcome!

Lainie, don't worry about making it easy on me. I've got two daughters that are older than you are plus 5 granddaughters. If I can live to this age, with all of them, it is quite unlikely that you will live long enough to be of any trouble to me. Now if you were one of the boys. . . ?!?

Blessings,
Doc
