My father was Roman Catholic and God saved him and made him a trophy of grace.. hallelujah!! My father was eventually convinced that the Bible was the inspired word of God and therefore had no problem, in light of that divine revelation, of letting go of all Roman tradition.
My friend, there is no better prescription for you or anybody else than to hold fast to the doctrine of the Apostles found in the Bible itself. It is natural that you would find it difficult since you held RCC teaching so dear. Sit down with your Pastor and pour out your heart to him. The Roman Catholic Church told you that the priest was Christ's representative on earth, but the Bible says explicitly, in Ephesians 4:8-11, that Pastors are Christ's gifts to the church. He is Christ's under-shepherd and will counsel your soul according to the account which he will give to God one day. (Hebrews 13:17)

No but I know a lady that was.
She said that she was so hungry for the bible that she read it from cover to cover after she was saved and most importantly, forgiven. She told me the catholic guilt just lifted off and she was free. She found out she could have a personal relationship with Jesus and often would sneak off to the baptist church while her family thought she was going to mass.

I was a Southern Baptist and became a Catholic, still unsure as to what I am now though. I wasn't Catholic for very long before my old convictions resurfaced and caused me to doubt the church's teachings. I loved the Catholic Church, still do, and I admire her very much. I didn't have trouble letting go of some of their traditions but I don't think I was there long enough to become extremely devoted.

I attended an Anglican church and studied to be a layreader within the Anglican Church of Canada but I came to faith in Christ and left the church before meeting with the Bishop. After that I wondered around for a few years. Visited Roman Catholic churches but settled in a Greek Orthodox parish for almost 2 years. The one driving presupposition was God's sovereignty in all things. I knew I believed in what was called Calvinism but I avoided it and tried to find the correct "tradition." When confronted with my "Calvinism" by traditional churches I would claim Augustine and was left alone. God eventually lead me out of all that mess, I became focused on Christ and scripture and joined a Baptist church. I would say YES, I do still after over 10 years out of Traditionalism, still struggle with giving up traditions. They comfort the flesh, ritual appeasing the sinful soul and makes us feel like we are giving something back to Christ for what He has done. That’s probably why I freak out over images of Christ and the saints and general give Roman Catholics and Eastern Orthodox a hard time…they remind me of me.
Yours in Lord,
jm
