True. And who was responsible for that?
Good question. How far up does it go? Bishop? Archbishop, Cardinal? Pope?
I think it is a collusion of all of them.

I hope the Pope isnt responsible for it even partly. These are men we were taught to respect. Holy men. How do we trust them after the scandals?

The bishops who moved priests around are the ones responsible. Keep in mind, many of those guilty priests, and even guilty bishops, are indeed long dead.

Orthodox numbers are so low, it's difficult to interpret the significance of recent growth. And Orthodoxy has an embarrassing pattern in modern times of being a revolving door, where converts and cradles frequently leave the religion over time. Despite all the hype about Orthodoxy's deep spirituality, people find it hard to stay engaged in a religious tradition that is often so vague in its aims, obscure and obtuse in its theology, combined with a nasty tendency to excuse poor or bad behavior, or frank corruption, through appeals to pietism.
Hmmm....reminds me of Fr. Seraphim's buddy and some sex abuse scandals that happened at one of the Orthodox monasteries. I do not know if Fr. Seraphim was ever aware of it.

Well, the dead ones can’t hurt anyone else now.

True. They past through their judgment. God has dealt with them.
