  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Hi Jack,

Will it work out in the world, probably. Heck atheists and agnostics get married all the time. If, on the other hand you are seeking to know whether such a marriage would honor God, it really doesn't matter what denomination one is, after all there aren't any denominations in the ekklessia. There are only those whose names are written in the Lamb's Book of Life and those whose names are not.

You want to be sure before marriage that both yours and hers is there, if what you seek is to be equally yoked under God.

God bless you.
In Christ, Ted

Well, if she is a "good Catholic girl", then marriage really isn't too early to talk about.. =)

It depends on how stringent she and/or her parents are. If they are strict, then no. They will (as should she) want her to marry a "good Catholic young man". Anything short of that is not something they would be interested in or condone (unless they believe they could convert ya ... but even then...).

Best bet.. find out WHAT she believes and HOW she believes... then you will know (because in the end, it depends on her, not her parents).

However, you said "you", not "you and her" or even "her" ... so thus far it's simply you wanna .... let us know when you find out if she wants to as well. Take the step... asking us isn't the same as asking her... =)

I say you are unequally yoked with someone you should not be, they follow a completely different gospel and have other books in their bible .... GOD makes a distinction when we date others whose beliefs are as different as catholic and christian... catholics are taught no salvation w/o the church, therefore they have a different salvation than you.... and make God a liar in EPH 2:8 ON GRACE THROUGH FAITH AND YOU ARE SAVED.... do you know that if you dont belive that God is in the wafer during mass your a heretic...

Something important to my heart came to me as I read the conversations back and forth. Just think if you were a girl reading these posts, and because of the world's pressures you felt ugly because of the playboy girls and models and newest fashions out today. You wouldn't feel very good.

According to Proverbs, there is no such thing as an ugly girl. Proverbs 31:10-31 gives an excellent admonishment and wonderment to find someone who is beautiful from the inside. Because HER worth is more precious than jewels.
