Yet does not actually answer the dichotomy posed. If my soul is different to my body, then my soul is not to be blamed for acts committed by my body which may be considered sinful.

I will not vote. If God forgives one for taking a life that belongs to another, does the forgiveness entail salvation ? Does one necessarily ensure the other ? Only God knows. I will not vote because doing so seems to beg the question that forgiveness also means salvation.

Here is a situation:

There are two devoted Christians who fall into temptation and have pre-marital sex. The girl gets pregnant and has an abortion, knowing it is wrong. She aborts the child because of her parents are pushing her to do so and threatening to disown her and for other reasons.

Can God forgive her for what she did if she repents and asks for forgiveness?

I did not answer as you are asking me to make a call for God and I cannot do so. I can tell you this though and that is that any sin but the sin against the Holy Spirit can be forgiven. The girl you describe is definitely not living by the Spirit and since she is not I would more likely tell her to check the gospel she follows. If she is following the true gospel of Christ then she is playing with fire that could kill her soul. I say that because in abortion in most cases is an intricate process and one almost has to lie to the Holy Spirit in order to accomplice it. That last is the crime committed by Ananias and his wife and that certainly ended as a warning to the members of the church.
