• Starting today August 7th, 2024, in order to post in the Married Couples, Courting Couples, or Singles forums, you will not be allowed to post if you have your Marital status designated as private. Announcements will be made in the respective forums as well but please note that if yours is currently listed as Private, you will need to submit a ticket in the Support Area to have yours changed.

  • CF has always been a site that welcomes people from different backgrounds and beliefs to participate in discussion and even debate. That is the nature of its ministry. In view of recent events emotions are running very high. We need to remind people of some basic principles in debating on this site. We need to be civil when we express differences in opinion. No personal attacks. Avoid you, your statements. Don't characterize an entire political party with comparisons to Fascism or Communism or other extreme movements that committed atrocities. CF is not the place for broad brush or blanket statements about groups and political parties. Put the broad brushes and blankets away when you come to CF, better yet, put them in the incinerator. Debate had no place for them. We need to remember that people that commit acts of violence represent themselves or a small extreme faction.
  • We hope the site problems here are now solved, however, if you still have any issues, please start a ticket in Contact Us

Why is it that men are viewed highly if they have had sex outside of marriage
By whom? I'm a little confused about that question. Who do you think views them highly. I certainly don't. Men who've had multiple partners don't impress me either, and I wouldn't want a relationship with them for sure.

I think we're quick to accept the idea that men are just "made that way" as far as stereotypically being more sexually-oriented than women. It's the boys will be boys mentality. I don't think it's right and I think it does a disservice to men. But from a God point of view, I think He holds both men and women accountable for their sins....sexual or otherwise.

Because we live in a sexist and chauvinist world? Though trust me, it's not all that easy to live with male stereotypes either.

Simple.

It means nothing for a woman to 'get action'. They can whenever they want. For a man its a different issue. We have to work for it!

thats really the world's way of looking at people. Guys are expected to have had a lot of sexual partners and that kind of life is encouraged by our society. Even girls are encouraged to do this but at the same time we're looked at as cheap or easy if we sleep around. So I dunno... the world is nutso I guess

I certainly don't think highly of any one who sleeps around though whether they're a guy or a girl.

I know people who do that and even though they act happy I know they are completely miserable. Their entire lives are based around meeting someone to date, party with, and sleep with for awhile until they decide they've had enough of that person and move on to the next one. Its a very sad and pointless life

It's called a double standard. I think that this perspective is starting to fade, although unfortunately it seems to be being replaced by the view that everybody should be having sex outside of marriage or that premarital sex is no big deal.

Personally, I think that everybody - male and female - should be saving sex for marriage. I would consider promiscuity to be a negative quality in either gender.

It may have somthing to do with the different guys or different girls you talk to. I for one do not think it is a good thing for another guy to have sex outside of marriage, and definitely would not encourage it. I think this is a question we should ask of the world, because in the Christian arena, I don't think it is the case.
