Again, not entirely following you here.

My remark is just that to me, the Bible is just a book (or collection of books) written, re-written, translated over the ages by a bunch of men (and maybe some women), and eventually compiled and voted on by various committees to form the work it is today.

Personally, I wouldn't get overly hung up on the interpretation of it.

One can be interested in a subject without necessarily subscribing to the underlying belief system.

For example, I've always though that Bible stories were interesting, but I've always lumped them into the same category as, say, Greek mythology.

I find different religious beliefs interesting, if that's what you mean. I don't subscribe to any of them though. As far as I'm concerned all religions are human-invented and essentially products of culture.
